Dear Ms. Riveria:
On January 10, 2002 the Planning Staff reviewed your application for a Comprehensive
Sign Program (CSP) to replace an existing, freestanding sign at 1100 South Missouri
Avenue. The applications for the Comprehensive Sign Program and accompanying Sign
Permit are incomplete and have been enclosed with this letter for completion.
The following items/information must be submitted and/or clarified before a complete
review can be performed by the Planning Department:
Comprehensive Sien Proeram Application:
1. Clarify the agent and applicant. The agent listed on the CSP application is listed
as Ms. Jacqueline Riveria and the applicant as Mr. Carl Von Thaden. The
applicant is listed as Ms. Jacqueline Riveria and the agent as Mr. Carl Von
Thaden. The two applications must agree;
2. The CSP application is incomplete in that the eight flexibility criteria
(highlighted) as required by Section 3-1807.C are not addressed. Please address
each criteria in full (highlighted);
3. A signed and sealed survey is required (highlighted);
4. A location map is required (highlighted);
5. The location of the proposed sign is required to be indicated on a site plan;
6. The CSP application is not signed or notarized (highlighted); and
7. A rendered drawing of the proposed sign is required - include all materials and
colours;

1. Architectural Theme,
a. The signs propo:sed in a Comprehensive Sign Program shall be designed as a part of the architectural theme of the
principal buildings proposed or developed on the parcel proposed for tho development and shall be eonstructed of
metenals and colors which reflect an integrated architectural vocabulary for the parcel proposed for developm"nt.

b. The design, character. location and/or materials of the signs proposed in the Comprehensive Sign Program shall be
demonstrBbly more attraetlve Ulan signs otherwise permitted on the parcel proposed for development under tl1e minimum
sign standards.
2. t'feight.: The maximum height Of all signs proposed in a Comprehensive Sign Program Is twelve (12) feet proVided,
however. that a sIngle attached sign with a sign face of no more than twelve (12) square feet may be erected up to the
height of the principal building.

3. Lighting. Any lighting. proposed as a. part of a Comprehensive Sign Program is automatically-controlled 'sothat the

SIGN PERMIT SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Site Plan with the following items:
:a) Location of the sign in relation to property lines, public rights-of-way, easements, building
(Freestanding signs must be a minimum of five (5) feet from any property line.)
b) Lot frontage on all street rights-of-way.
!\DDITIONAL SIGN PERMIT REQUIREMENTS:
c) Inventory of all existina sians on the same property and/or building on which the sign is to be located, indicating the number, type, use e.g. property
identification, business identification, etc.) location and surface area. (If "none", so indicate);
d) Maximum and minimum height of the sign, as measured from finished grade;
e) Dimensions of the sign's supporting members;
f) For illuminated signs, the type, placement, intensity and hours of illumination. (Not more than five (5) foot-candles of light intensity for commercial signs.);
g) A Notarized statement of Authorization signed by the Lessor consenting to the sign placement;
h) Dimensions and elevations (including the message and color(s)) of the sign; and
i) Construction and electrical specifications, for the purpose of enabling determination that the sign meets all applicable structural and electrical requirements
of the Building and National Electric Codes. (Indicate if UL rated.)
All applications for signs shall include detail drawings showing how the sign is to be constructed and secured. All signs greater than
12 square feet in size shall have structural drawing signed and sealed by licensed Florida engineer or architect.
ILSO, please note that wind load requirements should conform to the 1991 edition of the Southern Standard Building Code.
