3. Unfinished Business
Cleveland Street Trees - Per Ream Wilson, Director of Parks & Recreation, the trees along Cleveland Street will be trimmed the week of January 23, 1995. There will be little or no
impact on traffic or parking along Cleveland Street. Decorative lighting for these trees is still being researched.
Relocation of CRA office - Mr. Gozza informed the Board of his negotiations with Terry Tsafatinos, owner of the Colony Building, regarding the leasing of space for the CRA office. The
Board concurred that relocating the CRA office in the downtown area was significant and encouraged Mr. Gozza to continue discussion with Mr. Tsafatinos.
4. New Business
Grants/Zero Interest Applications Update - Mr. Gozza reported that 16 applications have been requested. Kwall & Gross have finished their
renovation, Standard Organizing Solutions will start their construction this month and the meeting with Klein & Heutchen's architect was as recent as last week. Others have decided
not too use the programs because their renovations were not major or they chose to do it at their own expense; one has relocated outside of the district; another business has been sold;
another is a real estate agent who makes the programs known to possible tenants of their downtown buildings.
Mr. Gozza reported that additional marketing and/or promotion for these programs is necessary and that First Union Bank has been working with the CRA office on this project.
Downtown Development Board Ballot - The City of Clearwater received a similar ballot which will be discussed at the City Commission meeting immediately following this meeting. A motion
was made, seconded and unanimously carried to proxy this ballot to the City Commission.
5. Executive Director Verbal Reports
Visual Preference Survey Update - Mr. Gozza reported that a total of 250 VPS packets have been distributed. On January 25th, the survey will be administered to 100 Clearwater High School
students. The Central Area Council has recommended to its members that in lieu of their regularly scheduled meeting they attend the January 18th live VPS seminar. Channel 10 will
do a news story on the VPS - it will air on Thursday, January 19th at 6:00 pm. and will highlight Clearwater residents, Steven and Barbara Traum of Clearwater Beach, who will be participating
