ADDRESS:
The intent of the Comprehensive Sign Program is to provide private property owners and businesses with
flexibility to develop innovative, creative and effective signage and to improve the aesthetics of the City of
Clearwater.' Signage which is proposed as part of a Comprehensive Sign Program may deviate from the
minimum sign standards in terms of numbers of signs per business or parcel of land, maximum area of sign
face per parcel of land and the total area of sign faces per business or parcel, subject to compliance with the
following Flexibility Criteria. The use of site plans, sections/elevations, renderings and perspectives may
necessary as supplementary information in addition to the information provided on this worksheet:
1. Architectural Theme.
a. The signs proposed in a ComprehenSive Sign Program shall be designed as a part of the architectural theme
of the principal buildings proposed or developed on the parcel proposed for the development and shall be
constructed of materials and colors which reflect an integrated architectural vocabulary for the parcel
proposed for development.

2. Height. The maximum height of all signs proposed in a Comprehensive Sign Program is twelve (12) feet
provided, however, that a single attached sign with a sign face of no more than twelve (12) square feet may be
erected up to the height of the principal building.

that the lighting is turned off when the business is closed.

I am forwarding the attached drawings and survey photo for your review. I have sent you copies
of the survey photo's in the hope that you will find one of the proposed elevation drawings
similar and/or consistent with the other signage displayed in the center. I have stayed with the
channel letters due to the fact that this is the customer's "logo" and, in addition, as you can see
from the storefront, the storefront design does not support an awning design nor does the
customer desire to have an awning at this location. As you can see from the two elevation
drawings, the only thing that I can see which can change in order for us to meet your criteria, is
the painting of the storefront. Attached are two elevations; one has a dark green band along the
rooftop and above the store windows, the other elevation has the same design except that the
columns are painted dark green as well.
Please advise if one of these drawing elevations meet your approval.

Dear Mr. Hakler:
On March 27, 2001, the Planning Staff reviewed your application for a Comprehensive Sign
Program to increase the area of a proposed attached sign from 10 square feet to 20 square feet.
The sign will read "iparty". The application for the Comprehensive Sign Program has been
approved for the sign as submitted (attached).
Pursuant to Section 4-303, an application for a building permit shall be made within one (1) year
of the date of this Development Order (March 27, 2002). All required building approvals shall
be obtained within one (1) year of the date of issuance of the initial building permit. Permitted
time frames do not change with successive owners.
Please be aware that the issuance of this Development Order does not relieve you of the necessity
to obtain any building permits or pay any fees that may be required. In order to facilitate the
issuance of any permit or license affected by this approval, please bring a copy of this letter with
you when applying for any permits or licenses that require this prior development approval.
