The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:09 a.m. at the Municipal Services Building.
To provide continuity for research, items are in agenda order although not necessarily discussed in that order.
#2 Introduction of New Members – Ms. France was welcomed and expressed her pleasure at being appointed. It was reported Mr. Dadetto, Ms. Tirpak and Ms. Hider had notified the board
liaison earlier they could not attend. Also, Mr. Kader conveyed Mr. Dunbar’s regret at not being able to attend because of a prior commitment.
#3 Approval of Minutes of January 3, 2001 – Member Foote moved to approve the minutes as recorded and submitted in written summation to each committee member. The motion was duly seconded
and carried unanimously.

#5 Old Business –
a) Status of Capital Improvement Projects – Mr. Kader reviewed the following progress:
Ray Green Park Expansion – City closes on property at corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and Seminole Street June 15. Negotiations continue for one other lot on Pennsylvania Avenue.
Skate Park – College will meet next week to determine if it will need the field house property after the city’s lease expires.
Softball Complex Development – Renovations begin in July at E.C. Moore Fields 1, 2, 3, & 4. Improvements include fencing, lighting and landscaping.
North Greenwood facility – Property acquisition at southeast corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and Seminole Street to close 6/15/01.
Countryside Infrastructure Improvement – Grand opening was May 18 and the facility already is well-used.
Allens’ Creek Park – Design of playground is in progress. Board members asked to see the design when it is completed.
Beautification Awards – It was decided to ask Mr. Chin to review nominees and suggest winners at the next meeting. Nominees are Gas Light Alley Park; northwest corner of Drew Street/St.
Harrison where Osceola Inn used to be, Meridian Condo on Sand Key; and Clearwater Executive Golf Park.
#5 New Business –
Project Review – Garden Avenue Park, a partnership with Clearwater Police Department
Mr. Kader reviewed plans for the landscape project located in the 1000 block of North Garden Avenue. Members viewed the project favorably.
Not on the Agenda –
It was brought up that neighborhoods can take care of a plot of land through the Adopt-a-Park program.
Member France brought xeriscaping information to be given to Mr. Chin.
