#1 Call to Order – The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:05 a.m. at the Municipal Services Building.
To provide continuity for research, items are in agenda order although not necessarily discussed in that order.
#2 Introduction of New Members – Ms. Avrin was introduced as a new member. It was noted Ms. Tirpak has not attended a meeting since being appointed. Staff will contact her regarding
continuing membership on the committee.
#3 Approval of Minutes of August 1, 2001 – Member Foote moved to approve the minutes as recorded and submitted in written summation to each committee member. The motion was duly seconded
and carried unanimously.

#5 Old Business
Status of Capital Improvement Projects – Mr. Chin discussed progress of the following:
- Community Sports Complex – Phillies conducting site assessments. Home Depot a possible site.
- Ray Green Park Expansion – City Commission has signed off on purchase of lot.
- Concrete Sidewalk & Pad Repairs; Fence Replacement; Light Replacement; Parking Lot/Bicycle Path Resurfacing and Improvements; and Park Amenity Purchase and Replacements – On-going
projects of miscellaneous repairs and/or replacements.
- Skate Park – Meeting held with college; on hold until January while college studies impact of 4-year programs.
- Softball Complex Development – Renovations to be completed at Eddie C. Moore East fields by Oct. 8. Mr. Chin will discuss that project in detail at the November meeting.
- Recreation Path – (Trails project) going out to bid this month.
- City-wide P&R Master Plan – Members were invited to attend pubic meetings to be held in October facilitated by staff and the City’s Master Plan consultants. Study expected to be completed
end of December; commission approval expected in January or February.
- Tennis Court Resurfacing – Completed.
- Playground and Fitness Equipment/Purchase and Replacement – Working the residents at Crest Lake to consider moving playground and constructing dog park.
- Long Center -- Awaiting direction from Long Center.
- Allen’s Creek Park (Maple Swamp) – Playground design in progress; project to commence in 2002.
- Ruth Eckerd Hall – Building project commenced.
- North Greenwood Recreation Complex – Bids are in for building and pool. Bid for building was $2.9 million and about $600,000 for the pool. City Commission approval is expected October
18; completion expected October 2002.
Glen Oaks Golf Course Improvements – Storm water project proposed for site; improvements on hold.
Beautification Awards – Discussion postponed until November; Meridian on Sand Key to be considered.
#6 New Business — Members toured the renovated Henry L. McMullen Tennis Complex.
#7 Adjournment – Members adjourned at 10 a.m.
