Promary objective is to raise funds for children/s programs,
yet the experience will teach participants about helping others.

6. MATCHING FUNDS REQUIREMENT
A. Describe in detail the source of matching funds which must be at least 50% of the
grant request (in-kind and/or cash with a minimum of one-half in cash) and how
the funds will be used:
Over 80 volunteers donated 300+ hours last year, with
more anticipated. Also Channel 10 will cover the evnt once
again this year. ealance at match can be met through
Family Service Centers funds on hand.
7. ADDITIONAL INCOME / RESOURCES
A. List any known or expected additional grants or sponsors and their contributions
in support of this event:
Channel 10 television station, hope for support from
one or more grocery chains, but have not finalized as
yet.
B. List all sources of anticipated event revenue:
Per budget. Sponsorships, both cash and in-kindt
Entry fees: Plan on 120 participants, budgeted for 100
p~ying $50 each, with 20 full or partial scholarships.
C. List volunteer resources Cu~rent Family Services volunteers and
staff. New volunteers, and parents of participants.

1. FAMILY LIFE EDUCATION--EDUCATION & PREVENTION CLASSES --
FOCUS ON SKILLS-BUILDING ON VARIETY OF TOPICS INCLUDING;
ANGER MANAGEMENT; DOMESTIC VIOLENCE; DATING
VIOLENCE; TEEN SEXUALITY; SELF-ESTEEM; PEER PRESSURE.
HOW TO HANDLE THE CURVES THAT LIFE THROWS AT YOU.
2. FAST (FAMILIES AND SCHOOLS TOGETHER)--INTERVENE ON AT-RISK
CHILDREN WHO HAVE MADE THEIR SECOND DISCIPLINARY TRIP
TO THE PRINCIPALS' OFFICE. INVOLVES THE ENTIRE FAMILY
AND SCHOOL PERSONNEL IN A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT TO
ADVOCATE FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE CHILD--EVERYONE

3. HEALTHY FAMILIES PINELLAS-COLLABORATION AMONG THREE
AGENCIES-FAMILY SERVICE CENTER, THE COUNTY HEALTH
DEPARTMENT, AND THE YWCA--VERY EARLY IDENTIFICATION
AND OUTREACH TO VULNERABLE FAMILIES WITH INFANTS-
PROGRAM ASSISTANCE CAN FOLLOW THE FAMILY FOR FIVE
YEARS--REALL Y MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN FAMILY AND LIFE
SKILLS HABITS-THE FIRST THREE YEARS IN A CHILD'S LIFE ARE
CRITICALLY IMPORTANT.
4. CHILDNET-HOME-BASED ASSISTANCE TO FAMILIES WHEN THE
PARENTS ARE INCAPACITATED, NEED HELP WITH IDGH-RlSK
INFANTS OR CHALLENGED KIDS--OR WHEN BASIC PARENTING
