A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,
FLORIDA, APPROVING A STRATEGIC VISION AS
DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT A; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, in July, 2012 the City Manager and Facilitator John Streitmatter presented
to the Council an approach to develop the Strategic Direction for the City; and
WHEREAS, the Facilitator conducted one on one interviews with Council Members to
surface ideas and gather input; and
WHEREAS, Council held four working sessions with staff to develop a SWOT Analysis
for the City, evaluate existing Vision and Mission, discuss important topics and issues for the
future and develop draft Strategic Direction; and
WHEREAS, the Council held three public workshops to gather input regarding the draft
Strategic Direction, on with the business Community, one with the Neighborhood Leaders, and
one with Young Professionals -- approximately 75 people attended in total; and
WHEREAS, following the Council sessions and public sessions, the Facilitator and City
senior staff had two working sessions and developed recommendations for the Council which
were presented at the Worksession of July 15, 2013 and Council meeting of July 18, 2013;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Strategic Vision as described in Exhibit A is hereby approved.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
