Subject: Clearwater Basin Marina proposal dry storage
Concerning the Dry Boat Storage at Clearwater Bay Marina.
This proposat is not in compliance with the plans and future of the area or the city.
I request that you deny this proposal and plan for changes to the Clearwater
Bay Marina.
This is not what we want or what should be here in this part of the City. This area
is for a medium to upscale development. We can't let it be misused and
unavailable for the next 50 years.
We were making way for a residential development and now talking about
a noisy, stinky lower class facility that will down grade the whole area..
This is not in keeping with the future of this area.
We have enough small boats here. We could at times
use more parking for the boat trailers using the ramp.
This type of business does not belong on our most valuable waterfront property.
Several years ago...We approved and had a dry storage. It was not a pleasant
experience and it certainly didn't add anything to the community.
When it was approved before ...the Fork Lift was to operate at the west
end of the buildings away from the residential Osceola side.
When it was built, the Fork Lift was on the Osceola Side. From early morning
to late evening we had to be disturbed by the loud noise of the lift and the
more annoying, very loud back up alarm.
The builders said that they had the option of putting it on either end. We don't
want an option this time. LeYs get it right so we can all get along.
If this is approved, we don't want the fork lift on the Osceola side of the project.
The bay side is a natural place for it and it will not be as loud..
There should also be some kind of noise abatement device to block the noise
from the Osceola side of the buildings. The lift has to move along the loading
area to the racks. The east and south end of the building must be enclosed.
Make sure that is part of the plans and that the building and parking area be
designed to look like a real building and not an aircraft hanger. This is 2013.
LeYs not go backward.....
Another disturbance was the flushing of engines...again on the Osceola side
of the buildings or in the space between the buildings producing and amplifying
a very loud interruptive noise and much pollution.
These are just some of the things that have not been addressed in the proposal.
As it stands it is inconsistent with the plans for present and future.
My house is 10 feet from the main drive to the marina from Osceola. The traffic
is already to heavy and too noisy. The proposal will increase that by more than
double and increase the noise and pollution from the boats and the vehicles.
How would the boats be fueled? Where would the trailer entrance to the building
be located? What are the operating hours? Boaters want to leave before dawn
and they like to return very late.
These are some considerations that are not addressed in the proposal.
I don't want the addition of High Dry Storage, I don't think it can be a good neighbor.
We have a quiet neighborhood here and we want to keep it that way. We already
have enough intrusion all over the area from the boat ramp. We don't want more.
Thanks for you attention. Since dry storage was not included in the approval of the
existing marina business...l'm sure you can reject this plan and give all of
us a more pleasant future for many years.
