DELETE THE REQUIREMENT THAT SIGNS ON VENDING
MACHINE-ES BE REGULATED AS WALL SIGNS; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE- DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CLEARI ATERF FLORIDA-
Section 1. Section 28.10, Code of Ordinances, is amended to read,
Sec. 28.10. emisrac s and vending machines.
(4) Vending machines on public and private property. Mending machines installed on
public and private property shall comply with the requirements of this subsection.
(b) `fending machines shall be placed only on properties for which there exists a
building serving a principal use. Vending machines shall be placed within a building, or may
be placed outside a building if the following conditions are satisfied.

Section 2. Section 44.08, Code of Ordinances, is amended to read:
Sec. 44.08. Exempt signs.
The following types of signs are exempt from the permitting requirements of this
chapter, provided that number, area, and other limitations set forth in this section are satisfied.

The area of exempt signs shall not be included in determining compliance with maximum
allowable sign area requirements, Exempt signs are allowed in addition to signs for which
perry-iits are required. An otherwise exempt sign which exceeds the limitations of this section
shall require a permit.
(1 ) Machinery signs. Examples are signs can nee se ac s,gasoline pumps,
telephone booths.,and vending machines. Signs on ne sracks shall be subject to regulation
as provided in section 23.10. q

Section 33. The provisions of this ordinance are found and determined to be consistent
with the City of Clearwater Comprehensive Plan.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
