1. For new construction, additions . or other modifications of a property which involve the removal of a protected tree(s),
a site plan is required. This site plan must have a minimum scale of 1 " =20' for single family lots, or 1 " =50' for all others. The
site plan must include:

GENERAL NOTH5
1. WAllG: Above - ground and /or underground utilities may be in the area of
this project. PROCEED WITH CAUTION: Call "CANDY" and the utility owner(s)
forty eight (48) hours before beginning work Telephone: 1 -800- 282 -8881.
2. All construction shall conform to all applicable codes, ordinances and
regulations of City of Clearwater, Florida.
3. Contractor shall obtain all necessary permits prior to construction.
4. All trimming undertaken on a tree protected by the provisions of this
Land Development Code shall be pruned in accordance with the
American National Standards Institute (ANSI) A -300 Pruning Standards.
5. An automatic irriggation system providing complete water coverage
for all rec{uired and other landscaping materials shall be provided
and maintained as a fully functioning system in order to preserve
the landscaping in a had lthy growing Condition.
ro. All irrigation systil connected to the public potable water supply
shall include a backflow preventer at the the service connection.
1. All irrigation systems shall be installed so as to minimize spray upon
any impervious surface, such as sidewalks and paved areas.
8. All irrigation systems shall include a rain censor /shut off device to
avoid irrigation during periods of sufficient rainfall.
9. Underground irrigation shall not be installed within the driplines of
existing trees unless root protection measures are provided.
10. If available, reclaimed water shall be used for irrigation purposes.
11. Soils within planter beds must be suitable for proposed plant materials with
regards to p1-4, soil texture, soil structure, and seasonal high water table.
12. All areas distrubed during constrution or not designated for trees and
ehrubs, shall receive cod in order to stabilize soil and control stormwat+:r
run -off.
13. See Sheet L,2 of 2 for Landscape Specifications 4 Planting Details
and ether information pertinent to this plan set.

15. This plan was prepared for permitting purposes only and is not to be used for

PROTECTIVE 5ARRIER5 are used during land alteration and construction activities
for the following reasons:
1. To protect all the above ground portions of the tree from mechanical damage.
2. To protect soil near the tree from compaction and prevent root damage.
3. To provide physical and mental awareness of the tree's presence to equipment
operators and contractors.
To make PROTECTIVE BARRIERS work:
1. Place no heavy equipment inside the barrierf only hand labor.
2. Place no construction material or soil deposits inside the barrier area.
5pecificatfore for installing PROTECTIVE BARRIERS:
1. Minimum radius to be protected:
A. Pines = Pull Dripline or 12', whichever is greater.
E3. All other trees including Hardwoods = Full Dripline or 12',
whichever is greater.
2. Method of Erection (see detail this page).
A. Minimum height of uprights shall be three feet (3') above existing grade
and no less than 2" x 2" lumber.
B. Uprights shall have horizontal i" x 4" boards at the top and tweleve inches
(1211) below the top.
C. Uprights shall be spaced at no more than 4' to 5' intervale.
D. Horizontal members of no less than 1" x 4" lumber.
Before Permit:
1. PROTECTIVE BARRIERS are to be erected arowrd all trees four inches (4")
DBH (Diameter at Breast Helght and greater to remain: PROTECTIVE
BARRIERS shall be installed before construction, grading, or any tree
removal on site.
2. PROTECTIVE BARRIERS are to remain in place until all paving and construction
are finished and heavy equipment is out of the area.
3. Trees four inches (4 ") DBH (Diameter at Breast Height) and greater that are
located within ten feet (Il or the lot under construction ehall be protected
by a barricade.
