Ste 750 Orlando, FL 32819 Re: Encore Livin& Center Tree Deficit Dear Bill: February 17,1999 , The following letter is an addendum to Tree Removal Permit #2997 and summarizes tree replacement requirements per City Code of Ordinances Section 52.38(1)(b). The Ordinance provides a formula that allows 25% of the diameter inches (measured at 4.5' above grade) existing on site at the time of development to be removed without any tree replacement requirements other than trees required by the City's Landscape Code. The Ordinance also allows up to an additional 25% removal without replacement requirements for preserving native understory, removal of noxious exotic plants designated by the State of Florida as ecological pest, construction of tree wells and /or retaining walls, installation of tree root aeration systems, cabling and bracing, watering during construction, fertilizing, mulching, insect control, or other measures determined by the City's Land Resources Specialist to provide a benefit to the site. The maximum overall allowable incentive on any site is 509"x. The Tree Ordinance requires a developer to barricade trees, perform root pruning, perform proper pruning and retain the services of a tree care professional to assist with an on site tree preservation plan. Consequently no extra credit is provided for these requirements. The trees planted to meet or exceed the Landscape Code will decrease the deficit on an inch for inch basis. An exception to this requirement involves the planting of large specimen trees 4" caliper and above. A monetary credit can be given based on a comparable cost factor for the installation of these trees. The following calculations represent the deficits and credits for your site. Existing diameter inches 2122 25% allowable removal -531 Remaining diameter inches -1129 Deficit inches 462 Landscape Plan (proposed) -404 Adjusted Deficit inches 58 Adjusted deficit inches x $42.00 /inch $2,436 ONE CITY. This deficit must be met by replanting additional inches on the site or payment to the City Tree Bank Fund or a combination of the two. The deficit must be satisfied prior to issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy for this site. Please contact me at (727) 5624741 if you have any questions or need further assistance with this matter.
