Dr' d v Professional Park, Clearwater, Florida The Tree Inventory performed on June 22, 2003, by Westenberger Tree Service is summarized below. The site previously had a Tree Appraisal prepared on November 6, 2002. This report comprises data on 86 trees. No tree tags have been physically placed on the trees. The tag # reflects the number assigned on The Tree Preservation Plan Survey. The original tree appraisal did not include the condition rating of the trees. The condition rating is needed by the City of Clearwater for mitigation purposes; thus, we have provided that data. The following spread sheets are provided: 1. Master List (All trees on the survey). 2. Not On Property List (Trees on the survey possibly impacted by construction). 3. Preservation List (Trees to be protected; Above 50% Condition Rating). 4. Removal List (Trees allowed to be removed; Below 50% Condition Rating and smaller than 8" DBH, diameter -at- breast - height). In summary the Preservation List is of importance in determining any mitigation. A review of the site would possibly be needed to document any existing trees. Please feel free to call if you have any questions. Sincerely, 040K s Lynn N. J. Sosa & Associates 5211 Memorial Highway Suite 207 Tampa, FL 33615 -5000 (813) 888 -6525 by David M Zaparanick November 6, 2002 DEC 2CQ2 h JL Tree appraisal for corner lot of Drew St. and Anna Ave. in Clearwater, Fl., as shown on survey plan provided to me by J.J. Sosa & Associates. Overall this property has nine species of trees that are of significance size and value to be commented on for this report. I used the tree survey provided to me by J.J. Sosa & Associates to identify the trees listed in my report. Of the oaks identified most are either Quercus vir iniana, Live Oak, or Quercus laurifolia, Laurel Oak, one tree is Quercus falcata, Southern Red Oak. The trees identified in the legend as Mamosa (incorrect spelling, should be Mimosa) is Enterlobium contortisiliquum,or Earlobe tree. The pine trees are Pinus palustris, Longleaf pine; the Cherry Laurels are Prunus caroliniana, the Camphor tree, is Cinnamomum camphora. The Chinaberry was incorrectly identified and actually is Golden -Rain Tree, Koelreuteria ele amens, and Queen Palm, S yagrus romanzo f anum. I did find that the survey to not be completely accurate. There is a significant clump of native oak trees close the eastern property line that was not included in the survey. I included them at the end of my report This property has a total of 86 trees. Of these trees, a small percentage of trees will be directly or adversely affected by proposed buildings or proposed parking or travel lanes as shown by the master plan provided to me on November 4, 2002 by J. J. Sosa & Associates. One exception is a 45" Live Oak that grows in center of the plot on the western third of the property. I have described it in further detail below in item number 12. 1. Quercus sp., 8" Oak. There are some pruning cuts, but overall the tree is in good health. It is unlikely that this tree will be affected by development on the above said property, as it is far enough away that the roots and branches should not be affected. 2. Ouercus sp., 8" Oak. There are some pruning cuts, but overall the tree is in good health. This tree is leaning onto the said property because pruning has kept it from growing straight up to avoid power lines. It is unlikely that this tree will be affected by development on the above said property, as it is far enough away that the roots and branches should not be affected. 3. Ouercus sp., 8" Oak. There are some pruning cuts, but overall the tree is in good health. This tree is growing almost parallel to the ground because pruning has kept it from growing straight up to avoid power lines. It is unlikely that this tree will be affected by development on the above said property, as it is far enough away that the roots and branches should not be affected. 4. Prunus caroliniana, 15" Cherry Laurel. This tree is on private property. It is unlikely to be affected by proposed development as it is far enough away that its roots and branches will not likely be affected. This tree is in poor health as two major branches have major decay and rot. 5. Prunus caroliniana, 6" Cherry Laurel. This tree is on private property. It is unlikely to be affected by proposed development as it is far enough away that its roots and branches will not likely be affected. This tree is in poor health as the trunk has major rot and not worth saving. 6. Prunus caroliniana, 11" Cherry Laurel. This tree is on private property. It is unlikely to be affected by proposed development as it is far enough away that its roots and branches will not likely be affected. This tree is in good health although it has as two wounds. 2 7. Prunus caroliniana, 14" Cherry Laurel. This tree is on private property. It is unlikely to be affected by proposed development as it is far enough away that its roots and branches will not likely be affected. Generally it is in good health although it does not have good form as it has been pruned to avoid overhead power lines. One branch, overhanging the above property, is rotting and should be pruned off. 8. Prunus caroliniana, 20" Cherry Laurel. This tree is on private property. It is unlikely to be affected by proposed development as it is far enough away that its roots and branches will not likely be affected. The tree is in good health, although it has been pruned to avoid overhead power lines. 9. Prunus caroliniana, 15" Cherry Laurel. This tree is on private property. It is unlikely to be affected by proposed development as it is far enough away that its roots and branches will not likely be affected. The tree is in good health, although it has been pruned to avoid overhead power lines. 10. Prunus caroliniana, 11" Cherry Laurel. This tree is on private property. It is unlikely to be affected by proposed development as it is far enough away that its roots and branches will not likely be affected. The tree is in good health, although the entire tree overhangs the above property. It has been pruned to avoid overhead power lines. 11. Koelreuteria elegans 5" Golden -Rain Tree. This is an exotic tree. One branch is growing into a man made structure and is severely girdled. Therefore, that branch is weakened and will ultimately fail. This tree will be removed to allow for proposed development of this property. 12. Quercus virginiana, 45" Live Oak. This is a native tree. This is a magnificent specimen of a Live Oak. It has no obvious flaws. In fact, it is so near a perfect tree it should be a serious consideration to incorporate it into the master plan. Few, large, nearly perfect specimen Live Oaks exist in Pinellas County. Live Oaks can live to between 200 -300 yrs old. This tree, I hesitate to estimate, is around 150 yrs old. It is approximately 45 feet tall, and has a canopy spread of 60'. It has perfect symmetry, which is unusual, but is due to the fact that it is not bound on any side. If not incorporated into the site plan, protected during development, and given plenty of space for its roots, it will be removed. The only thing that this tree would need is to removed the undergrowth and a few dead branches in the canopy of the tree. It is natural for a tree to have dead branches, so they are no cause for concern. 13. Prunus caroliniana. 11" Cherry Laurel. It is unlikely to be affected by proposed development as it is far enough away that its roots and branches will not likely be affected. The tree is young and in good health. It is leaning over because of pruning to avoid overhead power lines and to grow towards light. 14. Quercus sp., 12" Oak. This tree is in good health, although it is leaning over because of pruning to avoid overhead power lines. It is unlikely to be affected by proposed development as it is far enough away that its roots and branches will not likely be affected. 15. Quercus sp., 8" Oak. This tree is in good health, although it is leaning over because of pruning to avoid overhead power lines. It is unlikely to be affected by proposed development as it is far enough away that its roots and branches will not likely be affected. 16. Prunus caroliniana. 4" Cherry Laurel. This is a small young tree. It is healthy, although it is growing towards the light and is one - sided. It is unlikely to be affected by proposed development as it is far enough away that its roots and branches will not likely be affected. 17. Prunus caroliniana, 4" Cherry Laurel. This is a small young tree. It is healthy, although it is growing towards the light and is one - sided. It is unlikely to be affected by proposed development as it is far enough away that its roots and branches will not likely be affected. 18. Quercus sp., 18" Oak. This tree is in good health. Although, it is growing in one direction because it has been pruned to avoid overhead power lines and is growing towards the light. It is unlikely to be affected by proposed development as it is far enough away that its roots and branches will not likely be affected. 19. Prunus caroliniana. 4" Cherry Laurel. This is a small young tree. It is healthy, although it is growing towards the light and is one - sided. It is unlikely to be affected by proposed development as it is far enough away that its roots and branches will not likely be affected. 20. Prunus caroliniana, 4" Cherry Laurel. It is healthy, although it is growing towards the light and is one - sided. It is unlikely to be affected by proposed development as it is far enough away that its roots and branches will not likely be affected. 22. Quercus sp., 19" Oak. This tree is in good health. Although, it is growing in one direction because it has been pruned to avoid overhead power lines and is growing towards the light. It is unlikely to be affected by proposed development as it is far enough away that its roots and branches will not likely be affected. 23. Prunus caroliniana, 5" Cherry Laurel. This is a small young tree. Although, it is growing towards the light and is one - sided. It is unlikely to be affected by proposed development as it is far enough away that its roots and branches will not likely be affected. 24. Prunus caroliniana, 9" Cherry Laurel. This is a small young tree. Although, it is growing towards the light and is one - sided. It is unlikely to be affected by proposed development as it is far enough away that its roots and branches will not likely be affected. 25. Enterlobium contortisiliquum, 49" Earlobe Tree. This is an exotic tree. The seedpods and branches can be messy and will require maintenance to remove from parking spaces. It is a healthy tree that provides much shade. The proposed development of the property encroaches significantly into the root system of this tree. This will significantly impact the tree and cause it to decline and eventual removal.* 26. This is a small young tree. It is a very healthy tree. It has good form and should be kept if possible. It is far enough away from the proposed development that it will very likely recover from any disturbance. 46. Prunus caroliniana, 6" Cherry Laurel. This is a small young health tree. This tree will have to be removed because of the proposed development of the property. 47. Prunus caroliniana, 4" Cherry Laurel. This is a small young healthy tree. It has good form and should be kept if possible. Although proposed development may disturb some of the root system, it should be able to recover well if properly protected during development. 48. Prunus caroliniana, 12" Cherry Laurel. This is a small young healthy tree. It has good form and should be kept if possible. Although proposed development may disturb some of the root system, it should be able to recover well if properly protected during development. 49. Prunus caroliniana. 4" Cherry Laurel. Ouercus sp., 35" Oak. This oak is on private property. Overall the tree is in good health. It should have some routine maintenance done to remove some dead branches. It is unlikely that this tree will be affected by development on the above said property, as it is far enough away that the roots and branches should not be affected. 52.S agrus romanzo fianum 9 "Queen Palm. This palm is on private property. This palm is in good health. It has approximately 15' of clear trunk. The palm canopy is growing in the canopy of the nearby oak, number 51. It is unlikely that this tree will be affected by development on the above said property, as it is far enough away that the roots and branches should not be affected. S3 uercus sp., 16" Oak. This tree is leaning over, and is almost dead. This tree should be removed. 54. Quercus sp., 6" Oak. Overall the tree is in good health. It is leaning over. It is unlikely that this tree will be affected by development on the above said property, as it is far enough away that the roots and branches should not be affected. R 55. Quercus sp., 19" Oak. This tree is on private property. Overall the tree is in good health. It has great form. It is unlikely that this tree will be affected by development on the above said property, as it is far enough away that the roots and branches should not be affected. 58. Pinus palustris, 5" Longleaf Pine. This pine has a straight trunk, and looks to be in good health. Removing the invasive exotics around it should release the pine to allow it to fill out and grow normally. If this tree is affected by grading for the proposed retention pond, it not likely that the tree will survive. 59. Pinus palustris, 6" Longleaf Pine. This pine has a straight trunk, and looks to be in good health. Removing the invasive exotics around it should release the pine to allow it to fill out and grow normally. If this tree is affected by grading for the proposed retention pond, it not likely that the tree will survive. 60. Supposedly an 8" Oak. I was not able to locate this tree. 1.Quercus sp., 19" Oak. Overall the tree is in impeccable health. It is a magnificent tree. Depending on how much grading is done around the tree to make the proposed retention pond, it has a good chance to survive. The more root protection, and with minimal root disturbance I would give the tree a good chance to survive. I would have to see the ading lan to make any further assessment. 62. Ouercus sp., 52" Oak. This tree is on private property. Overall the tree is in impeccable health. It is a magnificent tree. It is unlikely that this tree will be affected by development on the above said property, as it is far enough away that the roots and branches should not be affected. 63. Ouercus sp., 12" Oak. Overall the tree is in good health. It has great form. The vines growing on it should be removed. It is unlikely that this tree will be affected by development on the above said property, as it is far enough away that the roots and branches should not be affected. 64. Quercus sp., 12" Oak. Overall the tree is in good health. It has great form. The vines growing on it should be removed. It is unlikely that this tree will be affected by development on the above said property, as it is far enough away that the roots and branches should not be affected. 65. Quercus sp., 18" Oak. Overall the tree is in good health. It has great form. The vines growing on it should be removed. It is unlikely that this tree will be affected by development on the above said property, as it is far enough away that the roots and branches should not be affected. 66. Ouercus sp., 10" Oak. Overall the tree is in moderate health. It has great form. This tree does have a disease that is affecting approximately 95% of the leaves. The disease may weaken the tree over time but is not likely to kill it. It should be watched. It is unlikely that this tree will be affected by development on the above said property, as it is far enough away that the roots and branches should not be affected. 67. Ouercus sp., 22" Oak. This tree is on private property. Overall the tree is in good health. It has great form. The vines growing on it should be removed. It is unlikely that this tree will be affected by development on the above said property, as it is far enough away that the roots and branches should not be affected. 68. Quercus sp., 6" Oak. This tree has bad form, as it is leaning to one side. It is unlikely that this tree will be affected by development on the above said property, as it is far enough away that the roots and branches should not be affected. 7 69. Quercus sp., 21" Oak. Overall the tree is in good health. It has great form. It is unlikely that this tree will be affected by development on the above said property, as it is far enough away that the roots and branches should not be affected. 70. through 80 Quercus sp., 12" Oak. These trees are on private property. Overall the trees are very healthy. They have great form. They provide much afternoon shade for the building to the east of them. As long as they are protected during development, it is unlikely that these trees will be affected by development on the above said property, as it is far enough away that the roots and branches should not be affected. 81. Ouercus sp., 9" Oak. Overall the tree is in good health. This tree is young and with proper protection during development could survive, given that the proposed development has enclosed it into a parking island. 82. Quercus falcata, 22" Southern Red Oak. Overall the tree is in poor health. Some branches are rotting and have shelf fungus growing on it. It would be a hazard to people and property if left standing. It is recommended that it be removed. 83. through 86. Quercus sp., Oak. These trees were not listed on the survey. They are a significant clump located about 75 feet from the eastern property line. There are four oak trees of about 10" diameters each. Overall the tree is in good health. They have good form. The surrounding vegetation should be removed. Due to proposed development these trees will be removed. * Trees from number 25 through 33 are growing closely together. Their roots and branches are growing very closely and are intertwined. Because of this, if one or more trees are removed, the ones remaining will be affected, albeit - adversely. Because of this, I loosely recommend, that this group of trees almost be considered as one tree. A decision to either keep or remove any one tree should be applied to all the trees. If the trees are to be kept, I would recommend that the parking island, ten spaces to the east, be moved to join the parking island that surrounds these trees 25 through 33. This will give the trees a much better chance at surviving, given proper tree protection. The 1 I" tree, number 38, is not as valuable to save, as it is an exotic and is much smaller in comparison to this large group of trees.
