At the July 14th BPRC Meeting, members discussed the subject project,
which involves a 1,600 square foot building addition and subsequent
parking, drainage and landscaping improvements. It seemed that the new
portion of the building was occupied without obtaining site
inspection/ approval from Environmental or Public Works /Transportation
Group. I, therefore, wondered if a Transportation Impact Fee had been
paid.
After the meeting I reviewed Public Works/ Transportation Group and
Building Services records and found no information on the computation of
a TIF. I gave Gertrude a note showing the TIF amount due as $4,078.40,
and she entered it into the computer.
I then scheduled a parking lot inspection and subsequently entered a
"failed" status with supporting comments on the computer inspection
results portion of cornerstone. I called England Brothers Construction,
the contractor of record, regarding the TIF and parking lot inspection.
results. The two attached letters explain their position on these
issues.
Since the building is already occupied, could you provide guidance on
how to proceed with getting site deficiencies corrected. I have
informed Zoning that the site will be one space short of the required
parking.
