Dear Sir,
RE: Tree and landscaping proposals for the site Court Street,Franklin
Street and East Avenue.
Further to our meeting on site yesterday I attach for your information a copy of
our complete site locating all existing trees.(The trees on the front portion of the
site ,facing S.Garden Avenue, are not numbered and are not part of this current
proposal). All currently numbered trees are cross referenced to the Westerburger
tree mitigation survey ,a copy of which you already have.
This current proposal covers the part of the site which contains our new central
chiller plant and the proposed parking structure presently under design review.
I also attach a record of the nominated trees on the affected part of the site, the
tree numbers are on the right and tree girth is detailed for each tree, I have
separated European and palm trees for ease of identification,(you will note that
five trees have already been removed, one during initial demolition one lost in
heavy weather and three which were subject to a recent tree removal permit
adjacent the Red Cross building).
Our accelerated building program requires us to demolish the two remaining
buildings on this site the Red Cross on Court Street and the Pythian lodge on
Franklin Street in the very near future at the same time we require to remove all

the remaining trees on our site, apart from the Washington Palms (total 7 trees)
on the sidewalks of Court and Franklin as those particular trees are owned by the
City of Clearwater and tree number 2410 a Laurel Oak which stands in front of
the Red Cross building almost at the site boundary facing Court Street.
We request the City's permission to remove the other remaining trees and agree
to provide approved landscape plans which provide either equivalent tree girth
to match the total girth inches removed or pay the agreed cost per inch for any
non replaced trees.
We already have an approved landscape plan( drawing number 1-1.1 from
Northside Engineering, dated July 02) for the CEP and have a revised application
in with the City development review committee which includes our proposals for
the landscape treatment around the parking structure.
Please let me know what is required concerning our proposed landscaping of this
area around the two new buildings ; we would like to carry out tree removal at
the same time as our building demolition in late August 02 and your early
permission to remove those trees would be very much appreciated.
