OPINION- On Friday 5/29/09 and Monday 6/1%09.1 visited the above mentioned site and met will James Bond, a representative from The Church of Scientology. The large transplanted Live Oak ( "Sam.') and the two other Live Oaks on the west side of the structure are in good, healthy condition. I feel these trees will handle minimal root disturbances with � adequate irrigation, root drench treatment prior to the disturbances, and if done by hand �C in stages. The three trees have a significant amount of deadwood_ The deadwood should Ck be removed per ANSI A300 Crown Clean Standards down to a %s" and larger in diameter ,Z for public safety. At this time, the (4) sets of tandem cables, can be removed_ Also, the (2) stabilization cables that are anchored to the tree south of "Sam" can be replace with i( "Dynamic cables" to a higher placement in the canopy. The (5) large cables located between "Sam." and the building must stay in place. UJ RECOMMENDATIONS: m 0 0 Plantings underneath the (3) trees on West side of building: Co � All trenches are to be dug with an air spade. Only install half of the plantings and wait (6 ! Z Q weeks before proceeding with the remainder to not disturb the root system for "Sam". All - irrigation lines should be installed next to the West edge foundation of the building and Ln U) just inside the sidewalk to minimize root damage. The existing ferns are to remain in place as much as possible. All work must be supervised by a Certified Arborist. Safe, healthy, and well-cared for trees are an asset to any property or project.
