pursuant to our on site meeting regarding the space limitations in the garage islands, please
consider the following recommendations:
I, Per Landscape plans, Item R (Daboon Holly) could be replaced with 30 Gallon East Polatka
Holly, whose form is more upright and controllable in the given space.
U. Per Landscape plans, Item L (Ligustrum Tree 10' — 12', 3 "— 3.5" caliper) should be replaced
with 30 Gallon Nellie R. Stevens Holly because of it's controllable form and the space
allowed will not permit a larger rootball.
You may also consider replacing the Drake Elm with D.D. Blanchard Magnolia. This medium
size variety will be able to be maintained in the designated areas and does not require the
expansive root area that the alms require.
Thank you for your attention to these suggestions. As we discussed, any changes to the plan
Will require approval from the City of Clearwater.

With this letter are eight (8) sets of construction plans and our responses to the unmet comments posted on
the City's website for the above referenced project. To facilitate your review, the comments are restated
below (in bold) followed by our responses.
Traffic Review: Bennett Elbo
Comment No. 1: Show and Dimension on the Site Plan parallel parking spaces per City
standards.
Response No. 1: This issue was discussed during the Site Plan review process and it was agreed by the
DRC (as recommended to the CDB) that parking space strips did not have to be
painted on the paver block. Therefore, no further action was taken on this item.
Engineering Review: RLG
Comment No. 5: What is happening with the aerial utility lines which run through this property
and the two adjacent properties?
Response No. 5: Please see Sheet 2, Note 13 regarding coordination with aerial utility owners.
Comment No. 6: What is going to happen to the existing 4" water main within Jasmine Way?
Still not shown; also need to show how existing sanitary sewer main will be

Please see Plan Sheet 2. The approximate location of the existing 4" water main is
shown. A note has been added to remove this line at the gate valve on the east side of
Fort Harrison.
The existing sanitary sewer main will be abandoned by plugging the line to the West
at the manhole and the manhole will be removed. See Plan Sheet 2.
Engineering Review — Don Melone:
Comment No. 7: What is going to happen with the existing 2" gas main? Still not shown.
Response No. 7: Please see Sheet 2 of the plans. The approximate location of the existing 2" gas main
and the abandoned 1 %" gas main has been added to this sheet. A note (Note No. 12)
has been added to the plans regarding removal or reuse of this gas main.
Comment No. 12: Storm inlet 13A: Is this inlet taking on adjacent site storm water? If so, what
about easement(s)? There is a perimeter masonry wall proposed along the south
property line; How does the adjacent property drain into this inlet?
Response No. 12: A limited amount of off -site drainage comes to storm inlet 13A. This area was taken
into consideration when this storm pipe and inlet were designed. This small off -site
area is also included in the computations for water quality and quantity for the
proposed pond. Note that a detailed regarding the perimeter masonry wall has been
added to Plan Sheet 3 indicating that scuppers along the bottom of the proposed wall
have been added. It is our understand that an easement is not necessary.
Comment No. 18: The owner /developer will be responsible for installing a 4" ductile iron pipe from
the proposed 8" x 4" tee to where the double detector check backflow prevention
device assembly that will be installed and the owner /developer needs to install 1-
joint of ductile iron on the service side of the device. See revised site plan dated
8/30/04.
Response No. 18: Thursday September 16, 2004, Jon Burr of this office discussed the installation of the
additional one joint of ductile iron on the service side of the proposed 4" fire line with
Don Melone of the City of Clearwater staff. In several locations it would be difficult
to install a full joint ductile iron. Please see Plan Sheet 4. A note has been added
below the 4" fire line detail about the contractor coordinating with the City of
Clearwater Utility Department for the appropriate restraint on the service side of the
device. Don felt this would meet the City's needs-regarding this,..... _

a building permit. As of this date, 9/14/04, this approved permit has not been
received.

Comment No. 40: Final plat recorded with Pinellas County prior to the issuance of a building
permit.
Response No. 40: The plat for this project (please note that the plat is titled Murphy's Place) is under
review by the City's staff and when we have satisfied any comments they may have
the plat will be executed and recorded with Pinellas County.
Comment No. 44: Need to show all existing public utilities. All existing utilities within the right -of-
way of Jasmine Way still not shown.
Response No. 44: We have added both water and gas utilities to Sheet 2. The best of our knowledge
this is the existing utilities of which we are aware. Please note the plans request that
the contractor contact the Sunshine Utility Notification Service prior to any activity
on the site.
