SUBJECT/RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Resolution 98-51 which amends Resolution 98-28 and modifies the map describing the Clearwater
Enterprise Zone Area by removing two census tract block groups that do not meet the demographic
requirements set forth by the Florida Statutes.
® and that the appropriate officials be authorized to execute same.
SUMMARY:
• The legislative intent of Chapter 98-75 of the Laws of Florida was to establish the entire Clearwater
Brownfields Area as an Enterprise Zone.
• Census Tract 263, Block Group 6 and Census Tract 258, Block Group 2 do not meet the demographic
requirements of Section 290.0058 of the Florida Statutes for inclusion in the Clearwater Enterprise
Zone.
• The attached resolution and map modifies the Enterprise Zone area to remove the two census tracts
so that the Enterprise Zone application can be processed by the Governor's Office of Tourism Trade
and Economic Development in a timely manner.

RESOLUTION NO. 98-51
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,
FLORIDA, REGARDING THE CITY OF CLEARWATER
ENTERPRISE ZONE; AMENDING RESOLUTION 98-28 TO
MODIFY THE MAP DESCRIBING THE ENTERPRISE
ZONE AREA; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on August 20, 1998, the City of Clearwater adopted Resolution 98-
28 designating the Enterprise Zone; and
WHEREAS, the map attached to Resolution 98-28 which describes the
Enterprise Zone area must be modified because of the demographic requirements of
290.0058(2); now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Resolution 98-28 adopted on August 20, 1998 designating the City
of Clearwater Enterprise Zone is hereby modified as described in the legal description
and map attached hereto as Exhibit A.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.

Begin at the intersection of the west right-of-way line on N. Fort Harrison Avenue and the easterly
extension of the north right-of-way line of Sunset Point Rood; thence southerly along said west
right-of-way line of Fort Harrison Avenue, to a point of intersection with the easterly line of Pinellas Trail;
thence continue southerly along said easterly line of the Pinellas Troi to a point on the westerly extension
