ADDENDUM NO. 1
This is a continuance of the Agreement entered into by and
between the City of Clearwater, a municipal corporation (herein-
after "CITY") and EVERETT S. RICE, as Sheriff of Pinellas Coun-
ty, Florida (hereinafter "SHERIFF"), dated April 5, 1994.
It is the intent of the parties herein to renew the above-
described Agreement with all terms and conditions of said Agree-
ment remaining the same except as provided herein below:
1. Paragraph I I, page 3, is hereby amended to read as
follows:

II. The CITY shall pay the SHERIFF the sum of FIFTY-
THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED THIRTY-SIX DOLLARS AND NINETEEN
($58,836.19) annually for the latent fingerprint services
rendered pursuant to this Agreement.
2. Paragraph III.A., page 3, is hereby amended to read as
follows:
A. The SHERIFF will provide to the CITY, upon request
by the CITY, Forensic Science Specialists to document, process
and collect evidence at crime scenes within the CITY. Said
services shall include the photographing or otherwise document-
ing said crime scene as such may be appropriate, within the
scope and capabilities of the SHERIFF. Any processing or test-
ing outside SHERIFF'S capabilities shall be at the expense of
the CITY.
3. Paragraph III.D., page 3, is hereby amended to read as
follows:
D. The CITY shall pay to the SHERIFF the sum of
$115.33 for each crime scene processed by the SHERIFF and shall
guarantee a minimum df 2,000 calls for service during the period
of this Agreement. For all requests for service in excess of
2,000 during the period of this Agreement, the CITY shall pay to
the SHERIFF the sum of $115.33 for each crime scene processed
pursuant to this Agreement. However, in no case shall the SHER-
IFF be paid less than TWO HUNDRED FIFTY-SEVEN THOUSAND EIGHT
HUNDRED SEVENTY-EIGHT DOLLARS AND THIRTY-FIVE CENTS
($257,878.35) for forensic science and evidence storage services
as provided in this Agreement.

4. Paragraph III.E., page 3, is hereby amended to read as
follows:
E. Billing for requests for service in excess of 2,000
calls during the period of this Agreement shall be invoiced
monthly at the rate of $115.33 per call.
5. Paragraph III.F., page 4, is hereby deleted.
6. Paragraph III.G., page 4, is hereby amended to read as
follows:
G. The parties agree that the term "call for services"
as used herein shall be defined as an incident, event or offense
that requires a report or offense number made, recorded or taken
by a member of the CITY OF CLEARWATER Police Department for
documentation purposes and which requires some action by a SHER-
IFF'S Forensic Science Specialist. All services rendered under
the same case number shall be deemed one call for service. Such
offense numbers shall be used to calculate calls for service
with each offense number which results in a request for services
being deemed a call for services.
7. Paragraph IV, page 4, is hereby amended to read as fol-
lows:
IV. The CITY agrees to pay to the SHERIFF on or before
March 15, 1995, the sum of THREE HUNDRED SIXTEEN THOUSAND SEVEN
HUNDRED FOURTEEN DOLLARS AND FIFTY-FOUR CENTS ($316,714.54)
which reflects the minimum sum due for all services to be ren-
dered during the term of this Agreement.
8. Paragraph V, page 4, is hereby amended to read as fol-
lows:
V. Either party may cancel this Agreement upon provid-
ing notice of such cancellation in writing thirty (10) days in
advance of the date of cancellation. In consideration for and
CITY's knowledge of SHERIFF hiring and training additional staff
to manage the requirements of this Agreement, should CITY termi-
nate this Agreement prior to January 1, 1996 no funds will be
reimbursed by the SHERIFF to the CITY. If the SHERIFF termi-
nates the Agreement, the SHERIFF shall retain such sums from the
payment set forth above as reflect actual calls fro service at
the rate provided herein and shall refund the remainder to the
CITY.

9. Except as provided above, the terms and conditions of
the Agreement dated April 5, 1994 is renewed for a period of one
year commencing January 1, 1995 and concluding December 31, 1995.
