AMENDMENT OF CONTRACT BETWEEN THE PINELLAS COUNTY
EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES AUTHORITY.
A SPECIAL DISTRICT OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA. AND
THE CITY OF CLEARWATER
WIT N E SSE T H:
WHEREAS. the Pinellas County Emergency Medical Services
Authority. a political subdivision of the State of Florida.
herein referred to as Authority and the City of Clearwater.
herein referred to as Contractor. have executed an agreement.
for the provision of emergency medical services to the
Authority by the Contractor; and.
WHEREAS. the Authority and the Contractor wish to amend
their contract to recognize the fact that both parties adhere
to equal employment opportunity practices and do not dis-
criminate against persons in protected classifications.
NOW. THEREFORE. in consideration of the promises set out
herein. the parties mutually agree to amend the original con-
tract by adding the fOllowing provision:
A. Contractor. during the performance of this
Agreement. agrees to comply with all applicable
provisions of federal. state and local laws and

regulations pertaining to prohibited discrimination.

B. Contractor will not discriminate against any
applicant for employment because of race.
religion. color. national origin. sex or age.
Contractor will take affirmative action to ensure
that applicants are employed without regard to
their race. religion. color. national origin.
sex or age. Such action shall include. but not
be limited to the fOllowing: employment. upgrading.
demotion or transfer; recruitment or recruitment
advertising; layoff or termination; rates of pay
or other forms of compensation; and selection for
training. including apprenticeship. Contractor
agrees to post in conspicious places. available to
employees and applicants for employment. notices
to be provided setting forth the provisions of this
non-discrimination clause.
C. Contractor. will. in all solicitations or adver-
tisements for employees placed by or on behalf of
Contractor. state that all qualified applicants
will receive consideration for employment without
regard to race. religion. color. national origin.
sex or age.

D. Contractor will send to each labor union or
representative or workers with which he has
a collective bargaining agreement or other con-
tract or understanding. a notice to be provided
advising the said labor union or workers' repre-
sentative of Contractor's commitments under this
section. and shall post copies of the notice in
conspicuous places available to employees and
applicants for employment. Contractors will take
action with respect to any subcontract or purchase
order as the administering agency may direct as a
means of enforcing such provision. including sanc-
tions for non-compliance.
