LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING
Dear Ms. Janssen:
This letter of understanding between Countryside High School and the City of Clearwater is in regllrds to
the school's request for the City to provide water I sewer service to the new restroom facilities. The City
has previously assisted in the funding of this new facility, and currently agrees to provide further in-kind
services to help in the completion ofthisJ'fOject To this eud, thejl3rties agree to the following:
. The City of Clearwater's Public Utilities agrees to provide the labor and material support to run the
water serviCj> from the main line to the new restroom bui1din~ counection, and toprovide installation
of the gravity sewer connectiou. The City will provide the water service by tapping into the six inch
(6") main line located near the new restroom facili(y. A one and one-half inch (1-112") water line will
be run from the meter to the new building. A two inch (2") meter tap fee ($700) and backflow
preventer ($395) will be needed for thisproject, and the normal cost for this will be absorbed by the
City.
· Countryside High School agrees to grant the City of Clearwater the authority to enter school property
with approP!]ate prior notification, 10.performthe requested work, with.a release of 1iability .while
performing the work. The City of Clearwater assumes responsibility for all safety issues associated
with the performance of their work.
. Countryside High School agrees that this release of liability covers any issues which may arise at a
later date, including the explicit understanding1hat1'ublic Utilities and the City of Clearwater will not
be held responsible for any future problems or maintenance with this facility, including trouble calls.
. Countryside High School agrees to contact.Public Utilities;;ustomer.service (562-4600) to request the
installation work. The school will make payment for the $3,840 impact fee, which will generate the 2"
tap order, initiating the scheduling of the w.ork bye Pub1ic T ltilitie<
· Conntryside High School agrees to mark all underground utilities in the work area, prior to start of the
City's wQrk
