Dear Mr. Turner:
Thank you for your letter regarding the Clearwater Municipal Cemetery. I am
sorry you have had difficulty in obtaining the information you seek. I am happy to let
you know there are at least four employees in the department assigned to research
information regarding the cemetery. It is unfortunate you were misinformed regarding
the state of our records. Official Records and Legislative Services has not had an
employee with the name of Sexton, or a similar name, and has had these records in a
computer database for several years.
The Clearwater Cemetery was deeded to the City December 4, 1916. Since we
do not have copies of all the deeds, a database of the information available was
created. The following information was compiled to address your questions:
Block 4, Lot 1, Spaces 33 through 44 - there is no deed in our files;
however, our information indicates Turner as the owner
Spaces 33 through 38 and 41 thru 44 currently have no
interments.
Block 4, Lot 28, Spaces 1 through 20 - there is no deed in our files;
Turner Family is shown as the owner; there are no interments in Spaces
13, and 14.
