3.1 – Nagano High School visit – February 2010
Cultural Affairs Programmer Elizabeth Minor said the February 5–13, 2010 visit by
Nagano high school students was successful. Two home-stay families hosted two students
each.
3.2 - Nagano Middle School visit – March 2010
Ms. Minor said the March 20-26, 2010 visit by Nagano middle school students also went
well. Transporting the group was easier with all 13 students hosted by Clearwater Fundamental
Middle School families. Middle school visits are tied to Nagano school schedules and are brief.
Previous fall visits were difficult to organize and subject to inclement weather.
4 – New Business
4.1. Nagano Delegation – April 22-25, 2010
Ms. Minor reviewed the itinerary for this month’s visit by the Nagano delegation.
Delegation officials will visit the Consulate-General of Japan in Miami before arriving in
Clearwater. The delegation will stay at the Sheraton Sand Key, which offered reasonable prices
for accommodations and the Sayonara banquet. Some members will stay with host families for
two nights. Discussion ensued regarding airport greetings, departure tips, transportation,
Sayonara banquet entertainment, the Fun ‘n Sun concert, and the unveiling of Nagano’s gift, a
