FIRACHURCH OF CHRIST, SCIEAST 210 West Turner Street Clearwater, FL 33756 (727) 446-2079 March 3, 2005 Dear City Official, Enclosed are three fairly recent pictures of the facade of the Christian Science Reading Room as 429 Cleveland St. along with Garnet and Flax color samples. The backwall stucco is the same color as the walls at the front of the Reading Room. There is a white aluminum awning over the door and window in the back wall. The outside of the building has not been painted for several years. Some of the paint has already cracked and pebled'off. We would like to follow the painting schedule outlined below which is intended to freshen and brighen up the appearance of the building. Current colors as indicated in the pictures are a very dark brown and a creamy off white. The nearest water spigot is at the rear of the building which tends to complicate pressure washing the facade and the sidewalk. After the bridge is opened later this year we anticipate that the lowered traffic level proposed for Cleveland St. will significantly reduce both the noise and diesels in the area. We intend to redo the faux marble painting on our two front pillars c ' I? ' r ?? l but we might change.the timing of that until after the street and sidew difications have ed for our side of the street in 2006. Dear Mr. Ring: The Planning staff has reviewed your application for Flexible Standard development and determined that the application is complete. The application has been entered into the Department's filing system and assigned the case number: FLS2005-03019. The Development Review Committee (DRC) will review the application for sufficiency by April 15, 2005. It appears from the submitted photographs that the existing brick on the front (north) fagade is the natural brick color. The painting of this brick surface is not supported by the Downtown Design Guidelines which requires that brick or stone be left unpainted unless the brick or stone is already painted and its use documented through paint analysis and historic documentation.
