WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida,
has been deeply interested in having the United States Government. through
its Postal Department, build a now Past Office facility in the City of Clearwater;
and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has shown its interest in this matter

:F -f 'ii.°•' `s` ' "' by cooperating with the postal officials and other Governmental officials
of the United States of America; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Clearwater is fearful.
?:k;; that there may be some doubt as to the City of Clearwater 's official stand
on the location of the said postal facility;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida,
respectfully requests that the United States of America, by and through the
Post Office Department and/or the proper Governmental agencies, proceed
at its earliest possible convenience to construct the much needed postal
facility in the City of Clearwater on a site to be chosen by the proper Govern-
mental agencies where it will best serve the most people in the City of Clearwater.
2. That the City of Clearwater respectfully takes this opportunity to
inform the proper Governmental agencies that further delay in the construction
of the facility because of the inability to select a Elite is unwarranted, inasmuch
as the continued progress and growth of this City is in peril due to the lack
of an expanded postal facility.
3. That a certified copy of this Resolution be forwarded to Senator
Spessard Holland, Senator George A. Smathers, Congressman William C.
Cramer, Postal Officials and the General Service Office.
