RESOLUTION
No. 61 w 47
WHEREAS, it has become apparent to the City Commission of the
City of Clearwater that there is a need to investigate the records of the
Department of Civil Service of the City of Clearwater; and
WHEREAS, Section 192 entitled Investigations of the City Charter
of the City of Clearwater as found in the Code of the City of Clearwater,
Florida; 1950, provides, among other things, that any department of,the
City may be investigated by the City Commission and/or any advisory
board so appointed by the City Commission for such purpose; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission by proper motion recently appointed
such an advisory board to make an investigation of the records of the Civil
Service Department of the City of Clearwater; and
WHEREAS, one member of said Board has indicated a preference
not to serve as a member of said Board; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission is desirous of making certain
other changes in the composition of said Board;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That Mayor Robert L. Weatherly and Robert Freeze be appointed
as an Advisory Board to investigate the records of the Civil Service Department
of the City of Clearwater.
2. That said Board shall have all the powers granted them under
Section 192 of the City Charter of the City of Clearwater.
3. That Mary Crown and Kenneth Williamson be allowed to sit as
observers to all deliberations of the said Board.
4. That this duly constituted Advisory Board be required to submit
a report of the results of its investigation of the records of the Department
of Civil Service of the City of Clearwater as soon as it can expeditiously
do so at the end of its investigation.
5. This Resolution shall take effect immediately.
