'j?WHEREAS, by passage of Resolution No. 58-51 (b), adopted by
' ` the City Commission on Juno 30, 1958, a pay plan affecting City Employees
?'er•°' : t ' was adopted, to be effective with the first a period after Jul 5 1958• and
xit•,.`,•ra ,• WHEREAS, by passage of Resolution No. 59-94, adopted by the
City Commission on October 5, 1959, a pay plan superceding the pay plan
of 1958, was adopted, to be effective July 4, 1959 and a supplemental
Pay plan to be effective October 9, 1959; and,
WHEREAS, the rules for administering all, said pay plans provide
for a base pay and for longevity pay as therein set out; and,
WHEREAS, some question has arisen as to whether longevity pay
should be included in determining the prevailing wage or salary received by
a City employee as the same is used and defined in connection with the various
pension plans affecting City employees, and it is desired to indicate the in-
#{' tcntion and position of the City in this regard; and,
WHEREAS the City Commission passed Resolution No. 58»76,

wage or salary of the employee should be the base pay of such City employee

WHEREAS, the City Commission passed Resolution No. 61-23,
which indicated the intention and position of the City to be that the prevailing

employee should then be entitled, should be the base pay of such City employee;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Commission, having given these matters much
thought and deliberation, is desirous of rescinding the action taken in City
Resolutions Nos. 58-76 and 61•-23;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
;,• COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
r''.L ?5 FOLLOWS:
1. That for the purpose of determining the prevailing wage or
salary of any City employee as the same is required or defined in the ad-
ministering of any pension plan or law affecting City employees, such pre-
vailing wage or salary, plus any longevity pay to which such employee shall
then be entitled or receiving, shall be the base pay of such City employee;
provided, however, the provisions of this Resolution shall not apply to the
Fireman's Relief and Pension Fund.
2, That this Resolution is adopted for the purpose of indicating the
intention of the City of Clearwater at this time and that Resolutions Nos. 58-76
and 61-23 of the City of Clearwater are hereby rescinded in their entirety.
