PENSION ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. at City Hall.
To provide continuity for research, items are in agenda order although not
necessarily discussed in that order.
2 - Approval of Minutes
Member Doran moved to approve the minutes of the regular Pension Advisory
Committee meeting of February 12, 2009, as submitted in written summation to each board
member. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously.
3 – Employees to be Heard – None.
4 – Action Items:
a. Review and Action on Employee Request for Regular Pension:
1. Gary Costa, Fire
Human Resources Director Joe Roseto reported that Gary Costa had withdrawn his
pension application.
b. Approval of New Hires as Plan Members:

Member Jensen moved to accept the following employees into membership in the
Pension Plan:

Mr. Roseto said the City is awaiting results from Thomas Stubblefield's IME
(Independent Medical Exam) and requested the hearing regarding his disability pension be
scheduled for April. Mr. Stubblefield previously worked 14 years as a City firefighter and would
qualify to vest his pension should the PAC (Pension Advisory Committee) determine he no
longer is entitled to a disability pension.
Member Doran moved to schedule the hearing regarding Thomas Stubblefield's
disability pension on April 9, 2009. The motion was duly seconded
It was noted that the PAC had determined that no extensions would be granted.
Upon the vote being taken, the motion carried unanimously.
6 - Director's Report
Mr. Roseto reported at the May 18, 2009, Pension Trustees meeting, the Pension Plan's
actuary will present data regarding the defined benefit plan and a defined contribution plan. The
Pension Plan attorney will be present. PAC members were encouraged to attend.
