Dear Mrs. Lessaris:
In accordance with Section 133.09 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Clearwater, I have reviewed your request for temporary sidewalk
installation waivers.
Your request is for waivers of sidewalks along public rights-of-way.
known as N.E. Coachman Road and Lake Forest Drive.
In accordance with the appropriate section of the Code, it has oeen
determined that your request for a temporary waiver of sidewalk
installation on N.E. Coachman Road is approved. Should it be
detennined that a sidewalk is required at this N.E. Coachman Road
location in the future, it will be installed oy the assessment process.
The Lake Forest Drive location does not meet the requirements as set
forth in the aforementioned Code, paragraph ee) because an existing
sidewalk is located within 200 feet of the property. Therefore, I
cannot grant a temporary waiver of the sidewalk installation require-
ment on the above-cited property and your request is denied.

Section 133.09 of the Code of Ordinances of the City requires that all land
that abuts a public right-of-way, which is to have new construction on it,
either for residential, commercial, industrial or other purp~ses, shall have
sidewalks constructed by the Owner on, across or adjacent thereto.
The Owner understands\and agrees that if the waiver is granted, the City may
install sidewalks at a future date and assess the owner for the full cost of
said sidewalks.

I have reviewed this location on site and found that this is a corner lot with
frontage on Lake Forest Road and NE Coachman Road. The sidewalk Qn lake Forest
Road would be an extension of an existing sidewalk on the adjoining property. On
NE Coachman Road the properties adjacent to this site and across the street are
already developed in the County and have no sidewalks. The sidewalk along this'
property would end at a major drainage canal. The road crosses the canal on a bridge
which is so narrow between the road and the bridge walls that no sidewalk could be
installed there.
It is my recommendation that the applicant be required to install the sidewalk on
lake Forest Road but that the sidewalk on NE Coachman Road be waived.
