AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,
FLORIDA, RELATING TO BROWNFIELDS ADVISORY
BOARD; AMENDING SECTION 2.241 TO REVISE
MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 2.241, Code of Ordinances, is amended to read:
Sec. 2.241 Creation; membership.
(1) There is hereby created the brownfields advisory board of the City of
Clearwater.
(2) The board shall consist of nine members. The city commission shall
appoint the members of the board as follows: three shall be residents within or adjacent
to the Brownfield Area, three shall be owners or representatives of businesses
operating within the proposed area and need not be residents of the city, and three
} shall be representatives of federal or state agencies or local governments involved with
the Brownfields remediation process within Pinellas County and need not be residents
of the city.
(3) Appointments shall be for four-year terms, except that shorter initial terms
shall be established by the city commission to provide staggered expiration dates. A
member may be appointed for not more than two consecutive terms.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
