AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,
FLORIDA, RELATING TO ALLOWABLE SIGNAGE FOR
EXISTING COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL PLANNED
DEVELOPMENTS; PROVIDING FOR SIGNAGE CONSISTENT
WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 44.51(4)(1) OF
THE CITY CODE FOR EXISTING COMMERCIAL AND
INDUSTRIAL PLANNED DEVELOPMENTS; SPECIFICALLY
WAIVING CODIFICATION; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 44.51(4) (i ) of the City Code provides for the
City Commission to determine the appropriate signage requirements
for commercial and industrial planned development zoning districts;
and
WHEREAS, there exists within the City of Clearwater five
commercial and industrial planned development zoning districts
requiring a specific determination with regard to allowable
signage;
WHEREAS, taking into consideration the existing land uses
surrounding the planned development zoning districts described
herein, the City Commission has determined appropriate signage
requirements for each district; now therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COM14ISSION OF THE
CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
section 1. Signage for existing commercial and industrial planned
development zoning districts within the City of Clearwater, as more
specifically described in the attached Exhibit A, shall be provided
as follows.
r Beckett Plaza commercial planned development -
Freestanding signage shall be provided as specified for
properties designated General Commercial district on the
zoning atlas of the City of Clearwater and attached
signage shall be provided as specified for properties
designated Commercial Center district on the zoning atlas
of the City of Clearwater.
r Loehman's Plaza commercial planned development - Lot 1:
Signage shall be provided as specified for properties
designated Commercial Center district on the zoning atlas
of the City of Clearwater; Lots 2, 3, and 4: Signage
shall be provided as specified for properties designated
Highway Commercial district on the zoning atlas of the
City of Clearwater.

Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon adoption.
PASSED ON FIRST READING AS AMENDED August 19, 1993
Section 2. Codification. Codification of this ordinance in
the Code of Ordinances of the City of Clearwater is hereby waived.

Signage shall be provided as specified for properties

of the City of Clearwater.

industrial planned development - Freestanding signage
shall be provided as specified for properties designated
General Commercial district on the zoning atlas of the
City of Clearwater and attached signage shall be provided
as specified for properties designated Commercial Center
district on the zoning atlas of the City of Clearwater.
? Clearwater 111901 Industrial Park industrial planned
development - Freestanding signage along us 19 shall be
provided as specified herein: One freestanding sign
containing a maximum area of 150 square feet, not
exceeding 20 feet in height, with a minimum setback of
five feet shall be the only freestanding signage allowed,
except exempt signs as may be allowed under Section 44: OB
of the City Code; all other signage shall be as specified
for, properties designated General Commercial on the
zoning atlas of the City of Clearwater.
