ORDINANCE NO. 5258-92
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
RELATING TO SOLID WASTE COLLECTION RATES; AMENDING
SECTION 50.05(e)(4), CODE OF ORDINANCES, TO INCREASE THE-
RATES FOR ,THE COLLECTION OF SOLID WASTE, AND TO
ESTABLISH A BASE RATE FOR RESIDENTIAL ACCOUNTS;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
ii. Side or rear building collection: Thirty-four dollars and ten cents
34.10 minimum for each living
unit. Manual pickup has a limit of two (2) containers, each having a capacity
no lar er than 32 gallons, per unit. A fee of'eleven dollars and thirty-seven
cents F$11.37) ton del l rs and twenty two Gents ($10.2 each wi l l be charged for
each additional 32-gallon or smaller container for rear yard pickup. A fee of
thirty-four dollars and ten cents-($34.10) thirty d eighty four eents
`($39.844 will be charged for side or rear building collection of each ninety-
gallon container.
iii. Base charge: Five dollars and forty-two cents ($5.42 for each
3 account. The base charge will be included in the monthly charge for active
_ accounts.T Dormant accounts will be assessed the base charge.
2. Motels, apartment motels, or apartments renting by day or week; all
containers serving the premises shall be centrally located at one collection
point.

Section 1. Paragraph (4) of Subsection (e) of Section 50.05, Code of
Ordinances, as amended by Ordinance 5062-90, is further amended to read:
Sec. 50.05. Deposit, fees, service charges and rate schedule.
(e) Rates:
(4) Solid waste collection rates:
a. Monthly charges for twice weekly collection of solid waste in
prescribed containers:

d. The charges set forth above shall be subject to adjustment for
increases or decreases in the dump fee. Uniform increases or decreases shall be
recommended by the public works director and approved by the city manager, and
a copy of the adjusted charges shall be filed with the city clerk. Other
increases or decreases shall be subject to approval by the adoption of an
ordinance by the city commission, upon the recommendation of the city manager.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect September 1, 1992.
