A moving current; and WHEREAS, a large number of boats travel through such Pass; and WHEREAS, permitting any jumping or diving from such Bridge poses a serious threat to the safety of such persons; and WHEREAS, the current Code of Ordinances contains no provisions to govern such conduct; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide a standard to govern such conduct; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA: Section 1. That Chapter 6, Boats, Docks and Waterways, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Clearwater, Florida, 1962, is hereby amended by enacting a new, Section 6-26 to read as follows: Section 6-26. Diving or jumping from Clearwater Pass Bridge Prohibited. It shall be unlawful for any person. io dive or jump from ` the Clearwater Pass Bridge whAit'here shall be posted on ` such Bridge a sign prohibiting the jumping or diving therefrom. Section Z. Should any part or provision of this ordinance be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any part thereof other than the, part declared to be invalid.
