FOR THE VIOLA'T'ION 01" THE TERMS OP THIS ORDINANCE.

SECTION I.: DEFINITIONS.
(a) Meat 14arket: Any person, firm or corporation
having in their possession any moat or meat food products
offered for sale or with intent to sell or expose for sale.
(b) Restaurant: Any person, firm or corporation
possessing any meat or meat food products with intent to
prepare, cook, serve, or offer for sale in any form for human
consumption.
(c) Health Officer: Shall be the City Health
officer of the City of Clearwater, or his authorized representative.
(d) City Veterinarian: Shall be appointed by the
City Manager of the City of Clearwater. He shall be a
graduate of a reputable Veterinary College and shall be
accredited by and have had experience in meat inspection with 1
the Bureau of Animal Industry of the United States Department of
Agriculture. His work being done }ender supervision of Health
Department of City of Clearwater, Florida.
SECTION II: Meat Inspection Regulations of the United States
Department of Agriculture shall govern all inspection, re-
inspection, handling, preparation, processing and marking of meat
and most food products, except as more specifically provided for
herein.

inspected, approved and stamped by Federal, State or Approved
Municipal Inspection Systems or by the City Veterinarian of the

slaughtered by a farmer' on the farm,, to which the head, and

all viscera other than the stomach, bladder and intestines
are held by their natural attachments, may be received for in-
spection at the regularly designated inspection depot. After
receipt in an inspection depot every such carcass shall be
inspected and if found to be free from disease and otherwise

sound, healthful, wholesome and fib for human ,food, it shall
be marked with the inspection legend. If found to be

G unfit for human food, it shall be marked '!CLEARWATER CONDEMNED"
_ and destroyed for food purposes. F{leats being presented for

inspection at a regularly designated inspection-depot shall
be presented at a time satisfactory to and designated by the
City Health Officer, and twenty-four t24) hours notice shall
• be given the Health Officer prior to the inspection at a

regularly designated depot of all farm--killed animals.
SECTION IV. Meat and meat food products in possession of j
' meat nnrkets or restaurants in the City of Clearwater, !
-c whether fresh or cured, or whether having previously been
inspected and passed by Federal, State or apprdved
municipal inspection systems, or by the City Veterinarian,
shall be reinspected by the City Veterinarian as often as }
may be necessary in order to ascertain whether or not the
same are sound, healthful, wholesome and fit for human food:
If,upon inspection any meat or meat food products are found to
have become unsound, unhealthful, unwholesome or unfit for
human food, the original mark stamped or labelled thereon shall t
r, be removed or defaced, and the meat or meat food products
confiscated and destroyed by the City Veterinari•dn..
" SECTION V: No person having a communicable disease or
caring for, or coming into contact with any person so afflicted,
0r who is a carrier of a communicable disease, shall handle
meat or meat food products in the City of Clearwater. The
City Health Department shall. cause .all persons who come into

appointed, by the City Conimis lion, for comunicabld diseases

communicable disease. shall be furnished a health certificate
in accordance with the regulations of the Health Department. of

SECTION VII: Any person, firm or corporation or association y'
who shall violate any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall, r 5_z::. • `
upon conviction in the Municipal Court of the City of
Clearwater, be fined not exceeding the sum of y 100,00 or
t imprisoned in the 0ityai.l for thirty (30) days,' or by, both
such fine and imprisonment, in the discretion of the

SECTION VIII: All ordinances or{F"arts of Ordinances in

SECTION IX: This Ordinance shall become effective immediate
