ORDINANCE NO. 285
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AND FIXING THE AMOUNT OF LICENSE;
' FEIZ TO BE PAID BY MANUFACTURERS, DEALERS AND VENDORS'OF
MALT AND VINOUS BEVERAGES NOT PROHIBITED BY THE LAWS OF
THE STATE: OF FLORIDA OR OF THEE UNITED STATES, AND PROVIDING
PENALTIIsS FOR THE VIOLATION OP THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE:
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Commission of the City of Clearwater,
Florida.
SECTION 1. DEFINITIONS. For the purpose of this Ordinance, i
the terms MANUFACTURER, DEALER, WHOLESALE DEALER, DISTRIBUTOR,
i VENDOR, MALT and VINOUS BEVERAGES shall be defined as they are
defined by the Act of the Legislature of the State of Florida,
of 1933, known as Senate Bill No. 427, which said Act was signed
by the Governor of the State of Florida on the 8th day of May,1933.
SECTION 2. No person, firm or corporation shall engage in
or manage the business of manufacturing, dealing in, or vend-
ing malt or vinous beverages within the City of Clearwater,
unless a LICENSE shall be secured from the City.Clerk of this
ti City, which license shall be issued to each person or persons
on receipt of the amount hereinafter stated, and the same shall ;
be signed by the City Clerk and the City Manager, and shall
have the City Seal affixed.
SECTION 3., Each Manufacturer, Dealer or Vendor shall pay
an annual license fee as follows:
Stores, shops, etc 7.50
RESTAURANTS & EATING PLACES:
Lass than 15 persons 10.00

b0 to 99 persons 37.50
100 persons or more 50.00 '
HOTELS

Where a hotel and restaurant or dining room are jointly

be the highest fee applicable to either the hotel or the
restaurant. :?? t•.it:

<F Boats, dining cars and other passenger carriers shall 'be

Clubs or similar associations shall be classified either as
hotel or restaurant, but the minimum license shall be $12.50
par year.
.All license taxes hereby ordained shall be due and payable
on the first day of October of each your, provided that any
person beginning such business and procuring a license after
April 1st of each year shall be required to pay only one half
of the amount required for an annual license.
The right to revoke any license issued under the provisions
of this Ordinance, for cause, is reserved to the City of Clear-
water, and said revocation shall be made at the direction of
the City Commission.
Licenses provided herein shall be additional to, and not in
lieu of other occupational licenses provided by ordinance.
Any person or persons, firm or corporation, or associatUon
that shall carry on a business for which a license is hereby
required, without first obtaining a license, shall, upon
conviction, be punished by a fine of not more than tyro hundred
dellars($200.00) or be imprisoned for not more than sixty(60)
days, or both.
All Ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
be, and the same are hereby repealed.
This Ordinance shall become effective immediately on its
passage,
PASSED by the City Comw:issi.on of the City of Clearwater,
Florida, this the 8th day of May, A. D. 1933.
