Be•it ordained by the City Council of the City of Clear
water, Florida:

Section 1. That the naves of all streets, avenues,
and other thoroughfares in tho City of Clearwater, except
as otherwise provided in this ordinance, shall be and re--
rnain as at present designated upon the various maps of
record in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of
Pinellas County, except that all streets, avenues, and thor-
oughfares extending from North to South shall be Imovrn as
avenues, and that all streets or thoroughfares extending : .
from East to Writ shall be knovm as streets.
Section 2. That for the purpose of securing uniformity
in the naming of thoroughfares in the City and to provide a
numbering system therefor, the following thoroughfares in
said City shall be Imovrn and designated as follows, to-wit:
(1) The street of the present South City limits$
knotm as Bonita Street and Jeffords Street,
shall be designated and Iunown as Jeffords street.
(2) Lotus Path and Davidson Avenue shall be desig-
nated and Imovrn as Lotus Street, ;
(3) Allen Avenue and Magnolia Drive shall be desig-
n ated and Imow as Magnolia Street. : ' . .
hiring Avenue and Jasmine Way shall be designated
and Imovrn as Jasmine Street. `
(5) Druid Road and Wallace Street shall be designated

Section 3. The City Council shall, as soon as

Section 4, All houses fronting upon any of the thorough-
fares of the City shall be numbered in accordance with the
numbering map prepared by the City Engineer, j. H. Drew and on ?
file in the office of the City Clerk. 100 numbers shall be

alotted to each block and the numbers on each successive block
from the place of beginning shall begin with a new hundred. All i
houses on the South and East of thoroughfares shall, be designated :.
by odd numbers and all house on the North and West of thorough-
fares shall be designated by even numbers. The numbering of all A
houses fronting on streets shall begin at the blocks abutting the
Bay front and extend Eastward. Houses abutting on all avenues
shall be numbered North and South from Cleveland Street, be-- i
ginning with,'numbep 1 and 2, respectively, and numbering away s
from Cleveland Street. The numbers North of Cleveland Street
shall be designated as Horth, and the numbers South of Cleveland
Street shall be designated as South, as "No. 1, North,! and 1111

Section a. The owners or occupants of all houses,
stores, and other occupied promises are hereby required to
comply with the changes of namas and the numbering of houses
' hereby prescribed and to have their premises properly numbered,
f within 30 days after the publication of this ordinance, by
r
H having the proper number painted upon the front of the build-
ing to be numbered or by using metal numbers of not less than
three inches in height. The o.mer, occupant, or agent of any
building failing to comply with the provisions of this section
of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and
upon conviction shall be punished by a fine not exceeding
$25.00, or by imprisonment not exceed3.ng ten days, or by
both such fine and imprisonment at the discretion of the
Mayor.
Section B. The City Clerk is hereby required to furnish,
upon requeat, to all property oirners or occupants, the proper
numbers of their property, as shown by the numbering map
mentioned in this ordinance, and should the proper number to
be assigned Li any case be doubtful, the City _-Rngineer is
required to designate and fix the number for any such
property.
Section 7. All ordinances, or pc.rts of ordinances, in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
