ORDINANCE NO. 81.
E AN ORDINANCE Entitled An Ordinance to Provide for the Taxing
j and Collecting of a License Tax on Dogs Running at Large In The
Streets of the Torn of Clearwater; and Providing for the Impound- '
ing of such Dogs as may Run at large in the Town of Clearwaterp
in violation of the Provisions of T4is Act. i
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOVM COUNCIL OP THE TONN OE' CLEARWATER:
Section 1. That the owner, or owners of each and every dog, or

bitch, running at large in the Town of Clearwater, shall pay for
the same a tax of Five Dollars, per year, and shall provide for
eachand every such dog, or bitch owned or running at large a collar,
to which shall be attached a metal tag with a number thereon, which
i number shall be furnished by the Torn Clark, and such tax shall be
paid for each year or fractional part of a year. '.
Sec. 2. The b6ginning of the license year as herein provided s
shall be the lst day of October of each and every year, and all - ,
licenses hereunder shall expire on the 30th day of September of .?
each and every year, except that for the year 1910p after the

passage of this ordinance, the license shall run from the date of
its issuance, and after the 30th day of September of theyear 1910,
no licenses shall be issued fore. a shorter period than one year.
Sec. 3. The Town Clerk shall keep a book in which the name of
the owner or owners of all dogs or bitches running at large must
be registered, together with the number furnished the owner to be
placed on the tag, and the date when such number was so procured;
and such register so kept shall be evidence that the license tax
provided for to this ordinance has been paid; and the full license
tax shall be paid, no matter when the application is made therefor,
and notwithstanding the date on which the said number is issued.
Sao. 4. It shall be the duty of the town marshall to take up
all dogs found running at large upon the streets of the Town of
Clearwater without collars or tags, as herein provided, and to
impound the name for a period to two days, and if not redeemed by the

sea. 5. That any person-or persons owning or keeping any '
dog or bitch in the Town of Clearwater who has refused or
. neglected to pay the license tax thereon as prescribed in this ,
j ordinanae, shall be tined not more than Ten dollars.
' Sea. 6. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. j
Sea. 7. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon 3
its passage by the Council and approval by the Mayor, and
publication as pres'eribed for in the town charter.
