An ordinance entitled .an ordinance to regulate sand provide
for the building and maintainnneo of sidewalks in the torn of
Clearwater, Fla., and to provide for,:•thb payment for the con#-tro
struction and repair of same.
1 Be it ardained by the town council of the town of Gl.earwater:
Sec. 1. That all side walks heroaftor built in the town of
Clearwater shall be built of ooncrete, vitrified brick, marble,
C asphalt or other hard and durable material that may be approved
i by the town council.
SQC. 2- 't'hat when in the' opinion of the town council it
i, shall beaome necessary to build a' sidowaLk upon sany of the, streets of the town, they shall by resolution decrlare an
intention to build such walk, gi'ving location of same s.td
specifications to be used' in the constract.ion of :game, and
stibi 1.h5ve such resolution published in t.heItown newspaper
once a week for fbur consecutive weeks, and if it shall then
' appear to the town council it is for the beat interest of the .'.
town to have such walk built, the council shall then advertise

to be awarded to the lowest and best bidder, who shall be €

Sec. 3. Immediately-upon completion of such walk seventy--ffvb
per cent of the cast of building with walk shall be apportioned.'

rlorida, provided, however, that if any property owners pairing
property abutting upon such walk shall fail to make payment I'

Sec. 4. Whenever a sidewalk in the town of Clearwater s hall 1
become so defective as to be dangerous to persons passing over ,t
it, or shall become a nuisance the mayor shall, upon the recom-
mendation tion of the committee on strd6ta and allays, cause a notice
to be served upon the owner or agent of the premises along which
defectikeo; sidewalk may be, to repair the some and place' it in " :.
i. 'good condition within five days from the ,receipt of such notices
If the owner or agent refuses or neglects to have such repairs
made within the time specified in this section, he shall be
t deemed guilty of maintoining,a public nuisance,,and upon
