WHEREAS, the original Downtown Development Board was created S by Chapter 70-635, Laws of Florida (1970); and r• Trr ?; z.a WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 77-637, Laws of Florida, Special Act (1977) the special act that created the Board and all amendments thereto were turned into an ordinance and made subject to the amending power of the Clearwater City Commission; and a WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Clearwater City Commission to change the status of the Mayor-Commissioner, or any other City Commissioner, from a voting member of the Board to an ex officio member of the Board. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS FOLLOWS: • Section 1. That subparagraph (d) of Section 22. 43, Creation of the board; composition and provisions relating to members of Article IV Downtown Development Board of Title II Administration of the Code of Ordinances, City of Clearwater, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. ZZ.43 Creation of the board; composition and provisions relating to members, (d) Two (2) noncommissioner board members shall be elected at each subsequent annual election, for which four (4) persons shall be nominated. Each qualified voter shall vote for two (2) of those nominated for office.
