MILLAGE ORDINANCE
ORDINANCE NO.2789 82
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
DECLARING THE MILLAGE RATE TO BE LEVIED FOR FISCAL
YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1982, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER
30,1983t FOR OPERATION PURPOSES INCLUDING PENSIONS AND
DEBT SERVICE AND ROAD AND DRAINAGE CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENTS; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ORDINANCES
OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;
PROVIDING FOR PROPER NOTICE OF PROPOSED ENACTMENT;
PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the estimated revenues to be received by the City for fiscal year beginning
October 1, 1982, and ending September 30, 1983, from ad valorem taxes is $9,184,532; and
WHEREAS, based on the taxable value provided by the Pinellas County Property
Appralser, 4.0598 mills are necessary to generate $9,184,532;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section I. That it Is hereby determined that a tax of 4.0598 mills against the real and
personal property within the City not'exempt from taxation by law, is necessary to raise
said sums appropriated for operation purposes, including pensions and debt service and for
road and drainage capital improvement projects.
Section 2. Should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or any other part or
provision of this ordinance be declared by any court to be invalid, the same shall not affect
the validity of.the ordinance as a whole, or any part thereof, other than the part declared to
be invalid.
Section 3. All ordinance or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith or inconsistent
with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of their conflict.
Section 4. Notice of the proposed enactment of this ordinance has been properly
advertised in a newspaper of general circulation in accordance with Section 166.041, Florida
Statutes.
Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
