ORDINANCE NO. 1833
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 25, VEHICLES FOR HIRE, OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,
FLORIDA, 1962, TO PROVIDE THAT WHEN A PUBLIC
CONVEYANCE HAS A TOUR SCHEDULE WHICH INCLUDES
RATES ON FILE WITH THE CHIEF OF POLICE THAT
PASSENGERS MAY BE TRANSPORTED FROM A POINT
WITHIN THE CITY TO ANOTHER POINT WITHIN THE
CITY, PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES
OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH
TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT; PROVIDING
PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE;
PROVIDING FOR THE SEPARABILITY OF THE PROVISIONS
HEREOF; PROVIDING FOR PROPER NOTICE OF PRO-
POSED ENACTMENT; AND PROVIDING FOR THE
EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That Division 1, Generally, of Article III, Public
Conveyance, of Chapter 25, Vehicles for Hire, of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Clearwater, Florida, 1962, is hereby amended by amending
Section 25-68.1 to read as follows:
Section 25-68. 1 Restriction of Operation.
No public conveyance as defined in Section 25-60 shall
transport passengers from a point within the City of
Clearwater to another point or destination within the
City, except to the extent that such public conveyance
has a tour schedule which includes rates on file with
_the?City of Clearwater Chief of Police.
Within this section, the term "tour" shall mean a
prescheduled trip whereby a group of persons, not less
than six (6) in num_ ber, _join together for purposes of
recreation or education to visit redetermined recreational,
or educational ointa of interest.
Section. 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed,
Section 3. Any person, organization. society, association or
coxporation, or any agent or representative thereof, who shall violate the
provisions of this ordinance shall be subject, upon conviction, to a fine not
exceeding the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500. 00), or imprisonment for
not exceeding sixty (60) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment in the
discretion of the Judge.

Section 4. Should any part or provision of this ordinance be declared Y
by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the same shall not affect
the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any part thereof other than the
part declared invalid.
Section 5. Notice of the proposed enactment of this ordinance has
been properly advertised in a newspaper of gentlral circulation in accordance °'_'°x'•''Y,^
with Chapter 166.041, Florida Statutes.
Section 6. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon,
