BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA: Section 1. That Section 121.01, Manner of parking generally, of Article I, Generally, of Chapter 121, Stopping, Standing and Parking, of Title X, Traffic and Motor Vehicles, of the Code of Ordinances, City of Clearwater, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 121.01. Manner of parking generally. It shall be unlawful for any person to stand or park a vehicle in a street other than parallel with the edge of the street headed in the direction of traffic, and with the curb-side wheels of the vehicle within twelve (12) inches of the edge of the street, except as follows: {.4} (a) Angle parking. Upon those streets which have been marked or signed for angle parking, vehicles shall be parked at the angle: to the curb indi- cated by such markings or signs. (b) Parking space. Any vehicle parked in any park- ing space in any publicly owned or operated arkin lot shall be ositi'•oned with the front end-of such vehicle facing into said parking s ace and the rear of said vehicle facing out- ward and at all times shall be parked within the lines marked on the pavement „or -ground for such arkin space so as not to occupy more than a_single parking space. (c) Metered or unmetered s ace. No vehicle shall occupy an metered or unmetered parking space in an public owned or operated parking lot unless said vehicle is p_K(?perly registered and licensed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida or the laws of the State where said vehicle is registered and the license to (s) issued to said vehicle visibly and legibly displayed. Td`f = / f . fi / 1?1n r`{Y? / Sr • V r 04- (e) Loading or unloading. in places where, and at hours when, stopping for the loading or un- loading of merchandise or materials is permitted, vehicles used for the transportation of mer- chandise or materials may back in into the curb to take on or discharge loads when the owner of such vehicle holds a permit issued the-Cif Manager or his designee granting him such privilege, and such permit shall be either in the possession of the driver or on the vehicle at the time such vehicle is backed against the curb to take on or discharge a load,-and it shall be unlawful for any owner or driver to violate any of the special terms or conditions of any such special permit and in no case shall such loading or unloading be performed in such a manner as to block or obstruct more than one moving lane of traffic on any street which has four or more clearly marked lanes of through traffic. Section 2. Should any part or provision of 111is ordinance be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to bu invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any part thereof other than the part declared to be invalid. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed. Section 4. Notice of the proposed enactment of this ordinance has been properly advertised in a newspaper of general circulation in accordance with Section 166.041, Florida Statutes. Section 5. The provisions of this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
