AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, AMENDING

CLEARWATER, TO PROVIDE FOR A NEW CONSTRUCTION SURCHARGE;
PROVIDING FOR THE SEPARABILITY OF THE PROVISIONS HEREOF;
PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDI- r
NANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR NOTICE OF THE
PROPOSED ENACTMENT; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
FOR THIS ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater City Commission has authori-
zed a bond issue for expansion of the City's gas system into the `?d. ,•?
northern area of Pinellas County; and
WHEREAS, natural gas enjoys a substantial competitive ad--
vantage versus electricity and other forms of energy; and

they were when the City's current system was constructed; and:'
WHEREAS, new gas mains will be constructed which will primarily ?.

(?i) to f. The charges specified in the above schedule shall be subject
to an 'adjustment per therm for increases or decreases in the
supplier's rate for purchased gas in accordance with the pro-
visions of the purchased gas cost adjustment in Florida Gas
Transmission Company's tariff.
Section 2. Should any section, paragraph, sentence or word
of this ordinance be declared for any reason to be invalid, the
same shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or
any part thereof other than the part declared to be valid.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed.
Section 4. Notice of the proposed enactment of this ordinance
has been properly advertised in a newspaper of general circulation
in accordance with Section 166.041, Florida Statutes.
Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon its passage.
