3207-83 ORDINANCE NO. 3207-83 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, SUPPLEMENTING ARTICLE 11, FIRE PREVENTION CODE, OF CHAPTER 93, FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION, OF TITLE VIII, PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY, TO ENACT A NEW SECTION 93.231, SMOKE DETECTORS; PROVIDING FOR SMOKE DETECTION DEVICES FOR VARIOUS TYPES OF RESIDENCES; PROVIDING FOR TYPE OF SMOKE DETECTOR DEVICE THAT CAN BE PLACED IN EXISTING OCCUPANCIES; PROVIDING FOR THE SEPARABILITY OF THE PROVISIONS HEREOF; PROVIDING FOR PROPER NOTICE OF PROPOSED ENACTMENT AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE. WHEREAS, current data does demonstrate that the installation of smoke detectors do result In saving lives; and WHEREAS, a need exists to establish uniform safety requirements within the City for occupancies. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA: Section I. That Article 11, Fire Prevention Code, of Chapter 93, Fire Prevention and Protection, of Title Vlll, Public Safety, is hereby supplemented by the enactment of new Section 193.231, Smoke detectors, to read as follows: Sec. 93.231. Smoke detectors. are ma or owner Section 2. Should any part or provision of this ordinance be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the some shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any part thereof other than the part declared to be invalid. Section 3. Notice of the proposed enactment of this ordinance has been fi properly advertised in a newspaper of general circulation in accordance with Section 166.041, Florida Statutes..
