BUILDING CODE; AMENDING SECTION 138.01, CODE OF ORDINANCES, RELATING

FEES AND CHARGES FOR VARIOUS PERMITS ISSUED BY THE BUILDING
INSPECTIONS DIVISION OF THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT;
AMENDING SECTION 138.071, CODE OF ORDINANCES, TO REVISE THE
DEFINITION OF "COMBINATION PERMIT;" AMENDING SECTION 138.10, CODE
OF ORDINANCES, RELATING TO FILING FEES FOR CERTAIN APPEALS;
AMENDING SECTIONS 112.1(A) AND 2204.2 OF THE STANDARD BUILDING CODE,
AS SET FORTH IN SECTION 138.02, CITY CODE, AND SECTION IIO(B) OF THE
STANDARD MECHANICAL CODE, AS SET FORTH IN SECTION 142.02, CITY CODE,
RELATING TO FILING FEES FOR CERTAIN APPEALS, AND THE FEE FOR A HOUSE
MOVING PERMIT; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate and in the best interest of the public
to revise from time to time the fee schedules relating to permits in order to
cover the costs of operation; and
' WHEREAS, the majority of the fees which are the subject of this ordinance
r have not been revised since 1985, and no longer reflect the costs of operation;
now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF

Section 1. Section 138.07, Code of Ordinances, is amended to read:

labor, materials and all other items does not exceed 500.00 and the work or
operation is of casual minor, iinconsequential natures and does not violate any
yy city codes or ordinances or is exempt -pursuant to Chapter 75-489 Laws of
Florida (Special Acts), Section 25.
wi Jbi Valuations for new construction and additions shall be based on the

s permits shall be based on contract value. The Building Official may-request a
ca of signed contract if value resented does not appear to be in line with
other permits of like work.
c Where no fee is stated the same shall not be interpreted as an
intention to waive an requirement for a permit that may be stated elsewhere in
f the City-of Clearwater's Code of Ordinances.

schedule. However, no fee shall be required when the building or structure has
