ORDINANCE NO. 4889-8 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, RELATING TO THE LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE; AMENDING SECTIONS 134.008, 134.010, 134.012 AND 134.013, CODE OF ORDINANCES, RELATING TO EXEMPT SIGNS, ADDITIONAL IDENTIFICATION SIGNS BASED UPON PUBLIC STREET FRONTAGE, POLE SIGNS AND WINDOW SIGNS; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. 11 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA: ;;.4 Section 1. Subsections (5) and (15) of Section 134.008, Code of Ordinances, are amended to read: Sec. 134.008. Exempt signs. In addition to the signs which are allowed within the city in accordance with other sections of these sign regulations, the following enumerated signs shall also be allowed and shall be exempt from the permitting requirement and procedures contained in this chapter: (5) Temporary window signs. Signs of a nonpermanent nature designed to [ advertise a special event, sale, product or service and in no event to remain in place for more than thirty (30) days may be placed on the interior of any first floor window without a permit provided the total cumulative surface area of all so& signs whether -temporary or ermanent does not exceed fifty (50) percent of the area of the window in which the signs are displayed. (15) Menu signs. A menu having a surface area not exceeding two (2) square feet may be displayed on an exterior wall, in a the window or door, or inside " a restaurant and visible through a window or door without a permit. Menu signs shall be limited to one 1) per restaurant per street frontage. Section 2. Paragraphs d, a and f of Subsection (2) and Subparagraph 6 of Paragraph a of Subsection (3) of Section 134.010, Code of Ordinances, are amended to read: Sec. 134.010. Signs requiring permits. In addition to the signs which may be placed without a sign permit, the following enumerates by zoning district those signs which may be placed upon the issuance of a sign permit. Only signs so enumerated shall be permitted and only in accord with the prescribed limitations on sign number and size. (2) The following sign regulations apply to the zones enumerated below: Limited Office District. General Office District. Office Planned Development District. Neighborhood Commercial District.
