AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
RELATING TO OCCUPATIONAL LICENSES; AMENDING SECTION
71.13, CODE OF ORDINANCES, RELATING TO THE DUTIES OF THE
POLICE CHIEF AND POLICE DEPARTMENT WITH RESPECT TO THOSE
OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE CATEGORIES FOR WHICH A BACKGROUND
INFORMATION REPORT IS REQUIRED, AS INDICATED BY "NOTE
B" IN THE OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE SCHEDULE; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 71.13, Code of Ordinances, is amended to read:
Sec. 71.13. Schedule of fees.
Each applicant shall be required to procure a separate license for each
category which applies to his or her activities. Except as may otherwise be
provided, the following license taxes shall be assessed and collected each year:
A_police department recommendation shall be required The peliee ehief shall

unclassified category which involves entertainment, transportation, food and
alcohol or other personal services and sh-Al fe-lavia the recommendation Fesults-
shall be forwarded to the city manager or the city
manager's designee for consideration prior to approval.
Notes:
A. Requires approval by the city commission.
B. Requires city police department recommendation approyal. The
applicant shall S;ni
complete a background
information report, executed under oath, and shall t4 submit to a background
investigation, photograph, and fingerprints. The recommendation shall be based
upon the criteria set forth in Section 71.12(e) and shall include a statement
of the facts upon-which the recommendation is based.
C. Requires city fire department inspection and approval.
D. Requires inspection, approval or license of state or county
authority.
E. Requires city building department permit for each ,fob.
