AN ORDINANCE OF, THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,
FLORIDA, ANNEXING CERTAIN REAL PROPER'T'Y
LOCATED AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE
INTERSECTION OF HAAS AVENUE AND U.S. HIGHWAY
19, PINELLAS COUNTY, FLORIDA, INTO THE
CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY, AND REDEFINING
THE BOUNDARY LINES OF THE CITY TO INCLUDE
SAID ADDITION; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida, received a
sworn petition from Ridge Haven Association, Ltd., requesting the City to annex a
certain parcel of real property described herein, owned by it, into the corporate limits
of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission, after due consideration of said request for
annexation, at a regular meeting held on November 19, 1987, voted 'to accept the
petition and authorized the preparation of an ordinance to annex the property; and
WHEREAS, on February 18, 1988, the City Commission held a public hearing
upon the proposed annexation; and
WHEREAS, the Local Government Comprehensive Planning and Land
Development Regulation Act (the Act) requires that all development regulations and
amendments thereto related to an adopted comprehensive plan or element thereof be
reviewed by the Local Planning Agency (LPA) for conformance with plans adopted
pursuant to the Act; and
WHEREAS, the Pinellas County Planning Council (PCPC) has been designated the
Local Planning AL-eney for Pinellas County and this Ordinance has been referred to and
considered by the PCPC in accordance with its guidelines;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT-ORDAINED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Pursuant to Section 171.044, Florida Statutes, thb following described
property Is hereby annexed into the corporate limits of the City of Clearwater,
Florida, and the boundary lines of the City are redefined to include the following:
Lots 1 and 2, Haas Subdivision, as recorded in Plat Book 48, page 66, of the
public records of Pinellas County, Florida, together with a portion of Lot 3,
Blackburn Subdivision, as recorded in Plat Book 24, page 62, .of the public
records of Pinellas County, Florida, being further described as follows:
Begin at the northeast corner of said Lot 1, thence along the easterly line
of Lot 1 S 01° 02' 38" W, 102.00 feet; thence along the easterly line of Lot
3, Blackburn Subdivision S 01° 02' 38" W, 254.00 feet to the south line of
said Lot 3; thence S 89° 5012011 W, 700.00 feet; thence along the west line
of Lot 2 and its extension N 01° 02' 38" E, 356.00 feet to the northerly Line
of Lot 2; thence along said line N 89° 50' 20" E, 200.00 feet to the POINT
OF BEGINNING.-

Section 2. The City of Clearwater does hereby certify that the measures
contained in this ordinance are consistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan and
individual elements thereof adopted pursuant to the Act, and directs 'that a copy
hereof be forwarded to the LPA for their receipt and appropriate action.
Section 3. The City Commission hereby accepts the dedication of all easements,
streets, parks, plazas, places, rights-of-way and other dedications to the public which
have heretofore been made by plat, deed or user within the areas so annexed.
Section 4. The City Engineer, the City Clerk and the Planning Director are
directed to include and show the property described herein upon the official maps and
records of the City.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. The
City Clark shall file one certified copy with the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Pinellas
County, Florida, and shall file another certified copy with the Florida Department of
State within 30 days of adoption.
