BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER$ FLORIDA: Section 1. Section 134.010 A 3, City Code of Ordinances, as created by the Land Development Cade, is amended to read: Section 134.010 - Signs Requiring Permits .Y A. In addition to the signs which may be placed without a sign permit, the following enumerates by zoning district those signs which may be placed upon the issuance of a sign permit. Only signs so enumerated shall be permitted and only in accord with the prescribed limitations on sign number and size. 3. The following sign regulations apply to the zones enumerated below: Beach Commercial District. Core of the Urban Center District. Bayfront of the Urban Center District. a. Until any speelel sign review provisions are adopted by the efty Gernmissfens; signs Signs in the Beach Commercial District and the Bayfront and Core subdistricts of the Urban Center District shall comply with the following be as €eHews: (1) Business identification signs and signs identifying other nonresidential occupancies shall be permitted, provided that not more than one (1) such sign shall be permitted per business establishment or occupancy. All such signs shall be located on the building, frontage facing the public street. The total surface area of all such signs for an building shall not exceed one and one-half (1.5) square feet per lineal foot of building width measured at ground level along the face of the building oriented to the street. No individual sign shall have a surface area greater than forty-eight (48) square-feet. Such signs shall be wall signs located on different building faces at least one hundred sixty (180) feet above grade and shall have a surface area not exceeding three hundred (300) square feet. (6) Identification signs shall be permitted In first floor windows, the surface area of which shall not exceed fifteen (15) percent of the window area In which they are displayed. Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect Immediately upon adoption.
