AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
ANNEXING A PORTION OF SECTION 6, TOWNSIIIP..29 SOUTH,
RANGE 16 EAST, PINELLAS COUN'T'Y, FLORIDA, INTO THE
CORPORA'T'E LIMI'T'S OF THE CI'T'Y OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
AND REDEFINING 'T'HIS BOUNDARY LINES OF THE CITY TO
INCLUDE: SAID AUDI'T'ION ACCORDING TO THE PROVISIONS
OF THE CHAR'T'ER OF THE CITY OF CLEARWA'T'ER, FLORIDA,
AND THE LAWS OF FLORIDA; AFTER PROPER PUBLIC NOTICE
AND PUBLIC HEARING THEREON, ESTABLISHING THE FIRE
DIS'T'RICT CLASSIFICATION FOR SAID PROPERTY; PROVIDING
FOR PROPER NOTICE OF PROPOSED ENAC'T'MENT; AND PRO-
VIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida,
received an agreement to annex, dated October 17, 1980, and amended
on February 25, 1982, which provides for annexation of such property
when possible under the law, and which constitutes a written request
to annex; a certain parcel of real estate described hereinafter, which
agreement was executed by William G. Blackburn and Gloria J. Blackburn,
his wife, into the corporate limits of the City of Clearwater,
Florida; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission, after due consideration of said
request for annexation, at a regular meeting held on December 6,
1984, voted unanimously to accept said request and authorized the
proper officials to set up a public hearing thereon for the deter-
mination and establishing of fire district classification and to
prepare an ordinance to annex said parcel of real estate into the
corporate limits of the City of Clearwater in accordance with the
provisions of Chapter 171, Florida Statutes; and
WHEREAS, on January 24, 1985, the City Commission of the City
of Clearwater, after proper public notice, held a public hearing
for the determination and establishment of fire district classi-
fication for said real property; and
WHEREAS, the Local Government Comprehensive Planning Act
(LGCPA) requires that all development regulations and amendments
t=hereto related to an adopted comprehensive plan or element thereof
be reviewed by the Local Planning Agency (LPA) for conformance with
plans adopted pursuant to the LGCPA; and
WHEREAS, the Pinellas County Planning Council (PCPC) has been
designated the Local Planning Agency for Pinellas County and the,
PCPC has adopted guidelines with reference. to such required referral

WIIEREAS, thin Ordinance has been referred to and considered by
the PC)'C under said process;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. After its evaluation of all evidence presented at
a proper public hearing, the City of Clearwater, acting by and through
its City Commission, by the authority and under the p-ovisions of
Section 171.044, Florida Statutes, hereby annexes into the corporate
limits of the City of Clearwater, Florida, and redefines the boundary
lines of said City so as to include the following described real
property in Pinellas County, Florida, and establishes fire district
classification therefor:
Commence at the SE corner of Section 6, Township
29 South, Range 16 East; thence run N 89°48'11" W,
100.01 feet; thence run N 01°08'45" E, 10.15 feet „
to the intersection of the North right-of-way line'
of NE Coachman Road and the West right--of-way line
of U.S. Highway 19, said point being the P.O.B.; thence
run:S 58°21'12" W, along said North right-of-way line,
120U.47 .feet, to a point on the East right-of-way line
of a Florida Power Corporation right-of-way line as
recorded in Official Record Book 1466, pages 156 and
157, of the Public Records of Pinellas County, Florida;
thence run N 00°58'03" E, along said East right--of-way
line, 884.84 feet; thence run N 01°12'20" E, along said
r East right--of-way line, 1365.57 feet; thence leaving said
East right-of-way line, run N 89°52'51" E, 1010,72 feet,
to a,point on the West right-of-way line of U.S. Highway
19; thence run S 01°08'45" W, along said West right-of-
way line, 1622.55 feet to the P.O.S.
The above described property is hereby designated
Fire District No. 1.

with the City's Comprehensive Plan and individual elements thereof
Section 2. The City of Clearwater does hereby certify that the
measures contained in this ordinance are consistent and in conformance
adopted pursuant to the LGCPA and directs that same be forwarded to
the LPA for their receipt and,appropriate action.
Section 3, The City Commission hereby formally and according
to law, accepts the dedication of all easements, streets, parks,
plazas, places, rights-of--way and other dedications to the public
which have heretofore been made by plat, deed or user within the
areas so annexed.

Section 4. The City Engineer, the City Clerk and the Planning
Director are directed to include and set out and show upon the
official maps and records of the City of Clearwater the foregoing
property and the fire district classification therefor.
Section 5. This ordinance and notice of the proposed enactment
of same has been properly advertised in a newspaper of general,
circulation in accordance with Section 166.041, Florida Statutes,
and Section 171.044, Florida Statutes.
Section 6. This ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon its passage and enrollment in the City of Clearwater Ordinance
Book.and a copy thereof being filed by the City Clerk for recording
in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Pinellas County,
Florida. In accordance with Section 171.091, and Section 171.044,
Florida Statutes, a certified copy shall be filed with the Department
of State of the State of Florida.
