ORDINANCE NO. 3808-84
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF,CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
AMENDING SECTION 99.04, COMMUNITY RELATIONS BOARD--
CREATION, OF CHAPTER 99, COMMUNITY RELATIONS,-OF
TITLE VIII, PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY, OF CODE OF
ORDINANCES, CITY OF CLEARWATER, TO CLARIFY HOW
VACANCIES ON THE BOARD WILL BE FILLED; PROVIDING
FOR THE SEPARABILITY OF THE PROVISIONS HEREOF;
PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ORDINANCES OR PARTS
OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH TO THE EXTENT
OF SUCH CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR PROPER NOTICE OF
PROPOSED ENACTMENT; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE
DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:

Section 1. That Sub-section (b) of Section 99.04, Community
Relations Board---Creation, of Chapter 99, Community Relations, of
Title VIII, Public_ Health and Safety, of the Code of Ordinances,
City of Clearwater, be and the same is hereby amended to read as -•
follows:
Sec. 99.04. Community relations boards--Creation
(b) Their terms shall be set up on an overlapping
basis and members may not be appointed to serve
more than two (2) consecutive terms. Vacancies
shall be filled in the same manner as the original
appointments €er-the-remaindeF-99-the-vaeast-term.
Each member shall serve without compensation and
may be removed without cause by the city commission
at any time. Members of the community relations
board shall appoint a chairperson and secretary and
the board may promulgate rules and regulations for
the conduct of its meetings and affairs.
Section 2. Should any part or provision of this ordinance
be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the
same shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or
any part thereof other than the part declared to be invalid.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict M
herewith are to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed.
Section 4. Notice of the proposed enactment of this ordinance
has been properly advertised in a newspaper of general circulation
in accordance with Section 166.041, Florida Statutes.
